Q4 is looking very busy for Tempting Talent, we have seen strong performances already from Sam Norris, Sam Watson and Jacob Raine. Both Isabella Woodward and Maia Hamilton are making incredibly fast and strong progress. While I’m proud of our business performance, I know that we are not the only firm experiencing this market. When speaking to a top GTM search client earlier today, they expect to finish up the year 20% above budget. Some firms are still feeling like they are in recovery mode but if your firm is seeing a strong Q4 with strong pipeline for Q1, now is the time hit the pedal on hiring. This week we completed an engagement for a key client, where they sought Principal/Director Talent. Due to a tentative market, they had three finalists from three direct competitors. As a boutique firm, this is a unique time in which you will not compete for Talent with SHREKs or other larger Search firms.

I enjoy sharing my perspective on business trends, market commentary, case studies and my personal experiences but every so often I share my thoughts on the recruiting industry as a whole. I have to say there is a lot of bad advice from recruiters out there so before you nod in agreement or share your enthusiasm for their advice, make sure you check the source as well as the context as most advice is either middle of the fairway and totally unnecessary to share (if you want to live, breath) or benefits the recruiter solely (it’s ok to tell me where you’re interviewing). I am pro-candidate, pro-client, pro-team, period. If I share my insights, experiences, or advice it will benefit all. So when I go against the grain, for any reason, I’d be sure to pay attention because something is amiss.
