Container ship named after Oman makes maiden call MUSCAT: A container ship named after the Sultanate of Oman docked at the container terminal facilities of Hutchison Ports Sohar on its maiden visit to Oman last week. MV ESL Oman – part of the fleet of UAE-based liner shipping company ESL – called at Hutchison Ports Sohar as part of the CMX (Cosmos) service connecting the Port of Sohar with major ports in China, Singapore, UAE and Malaysia. Hutchison Ports Sohar CEO Anacin Kum joined senior port executives and shipping agency representatives in a quayside ceremony to welcome the ship’s Master on the first-ever call by the cargo vessel proudly bearing the legend ‘Oman’ on its exterior. Morocco and Atlas Marine have officially signed a protocol for the creation of a new commercial maritime line connecting Agadir and Dakar. The agreement, signed in the presence of Said Amzazi, Wali of the Souss-Massa region, aims to streamline goods transport and address logistical challenges between Morocco and West Africa.

Airlines servicing the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana’s capital, are preparing for a six-hour daily runway closure for critical maintenance work starting on March 30, 2025. The maintenance is expected to last two years and conclude on March 30, 2027. During this period, the runway will be completely closed from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM local time daily. Royal Air Maroc, Turkish Airlines, Allied Air Cargo, and Ethiopian Airlines are the main airlines that will be affected by the runway closure, and they are making arrangements to ensure their operations continue without disruption. https://lnkd.in/dQnGZz6S
