Three Colleagues to Thank This Week November comes replete with reminders to practice gratitude. Reminding ourselves of the many gifts in our life has profound advantages to our mental-health and professional outlook. You can extend the benefits by not only feeling gratitude, but expressing it to others. Take just a few moments to share your thanks with these 3 coworkers: The colleague you always turn to. When you’re blindsided by a setback or you get news of a project’s success, who do you tell first? Share your gratitude with your coworker. Thank them for always being in the trenches with you, shouldering your burdens and relishing your victories. The colleague who does unseen work. Who are the members of your team or support staff who do thankless jobs that enable your individual projects and departments as a whole to be successful? Take time to offer your genuine thanks and assure them that their contribution is noticed and valued. The colleague who inspires you. There are people in your institution who model the values, practices, and skills that you emulate. This might be someone you know well or appreciate from a distance. Take a moment to let them know that the way they order their professional life encourages your own development and ambitions.

🌟 Happy Thursday everyone! 🌟 I hope you're all feeling as energized and excited for the day ahead as I am! ☀️ Yesterday, I received a message that got me thinking deeply about something I'm often asked: "Why do you post every day?" Some might see it as repetitive, but to me, it's a reflection of my unwavering belief in the power of consistency and the importance of every single day in the realm of hospitality. In hospitality, every day matters. It's not just about going through the motions; it's about making a difference—for your teams, your guests, your clients, your stakeholders. The way we perform can shape someone's future, influence their memories, and leave a lasting impact. Think about it: whether it's a three-day conference or a routine workweek, the experience we deliver matters every single day. There's no room for complacency, no time to let up just because we feel like we've accomplished something. Because for someone else, today might be their first experience, their moment of truth. Yesterday was fantastic, and tomorrow holds even greater promise, but today—this moment—is where our focus should lie. It's about embracing the opportunities and challenges that lay before us and giving our absolute best, each and every day. For me, LinkedIn isn't just a platform—it's my journal, a space where I can share my passions, insights, and experiences in the hopes of inspiring others. Whether it's a lesson learned, a success celebrated, or a new adventure embarked upon, I believe in the power of sharing and connecting with others on this journey. And as I look ahead, I'm reminded that these daily posts aren't just for the here and now; they're part of a legacy I'm building—one that I hope will inspire and resonate with generations to come. Someday, when I'm reminiscing with my grandchildren, I'll be able to share stories of the incredible people I've met and the meaningful work we've done together, simply by doing what I love. So, here's to embracing each day with purpose, to making a difference in the lives of others, and to sharing our stories with passion and authenticity. Together, let's make today count! 💼✨ #Hospitality #Consistency #LegacyBuilding

🌟 Sunday Appreciation & Reflections 🌟 As we wrap up another week, I want to take a moment to extend my gratitude to each of you who has supported me on this journey. Every message, like, comment, and word of encouragement fuels my drive to grow and evolve. Your support isn’t something I take for granted; it's the foundation that keeps me grounded as we work toward big goals and positive change. Reflecting on the week, I feel incredibly grateful for the milestones we’ve reached. Whether it was making progress on client projects, building out the “Beyond The Surface” series, or diving into new collaborations, each step forward has been exciting and rewarding. Yet, today was a reminder of the importance of balance. Spending uninterrupted time with family, away from the pull of work and screens, reminded me just how fulfilling it is to simply be present with loved ones. Looking ahead, I’m even more motivated to keep the pace, pushing for growth and impact while holding onto what matters most. It’s a reminder that true success lies not just in achievements, but in nurturing the connections that enrich our lives. Thank you all for being a part of this journey. Your support means everything. Here’s to a new week of purpose, progress, and gratitude. How are you all spending your Sunday? Any reflections or things you’re grateful for?

Friday appreciation post! This week, I’d like to acknowledge myself for going with the flow and working within my capacity rather than feeling guilty about not doing more. I have been under the weather with flu since last week. Therefore, I am utilizing this opportunity to pat myself on the back for taking it one day at a time instead of worrying about the what-ifs (aka worst case scenarios that my overthinking mind cooks up in seconds, faster than instant noodles ;p) Sharing a snippet of self-inquiry from my journal that helped me this week: What does self-acceptance mean to you, Saba? Right now, self-acceptance for me is….. - unconditional love - personal expansion - compassion & kindness - Taking intentional breaks - Allowing my body to rest - confidence to do better - working within my capacity - slowing down - going with the flow - being patient - showing up - listening & observing - adding valuing - subtracting judgement - contentment from within - Holding space for myself to feel my feelings - cultivating stronger faith in Allah & his plan for me - giving myself grace when plans go haywire - holding onto the belief that this too shall pass Anyhow, I am getting better and deeply grateful for good health, Alhamdulillah!! Self-inquiry through meaningful questions mostly leads to insightful and intriguing responses. Some self-reflection for you: - What does self-acceptance mean to you? - What personal accomplishments can you acknowledge this week? - In what ways can you appreciate, recognize and validate the contributions of your team members? (Perhaps leaving personalized appreciation notes on their desks on Monday as a way to brighten up their week) Have a great weekend, friends!

This connects with a great piece from Indeed today - their "Workplace 100" shows the business case for wellbeing in black and white. And so, fostering gratitude inside your organization's culture - which we know has profound effects on employee wellbeing - is a clear path from point A to point B. And to clarify, point B is collectively outperforming the S&P 500. #wellness #employeeexperience #recognition #employeeengagement

Today, I reflected on the positive impact my colleagues have had on our team's success and wrote two quick recognition messages. Life is too short, and tomorrow is never promised; death can arrive at any time, even during your dreams! Your friends and colleagues only know what you think once you've shared it. If you think something nice about someone, you should tell them. I see expressing gratitude as a duty. As soon as I think something nice about them, I visit the recognition website of my company, tap-tap-tap, send, and it brings me immense joy to send out the messages. Sending these messages only takes a few moments, but it may bring the immense joy of receiving them too. This is a way to live our lives with happiness.

Been doing a lot of this lately!! Across both life and work. :) Expressing gratitude with warmth empowers the present moment, and has the most powerful and immediately effective ability to shift your state, and the state of others around you, to being worthy of fulfilment. I've very deliberately consolidated where we're at with a broad and simple snapshot, to be most helpful, coherent and intuitively practical for the purpose of stabilising and inviting you to take action and work together with this warm, celebratory, long-time-coming change to quality growth. Recap: our best future is built from a foundation of being energised and empowered. And, energised and empowered is feeling valued, respected and confident. Zoom out: we're experiencing evolutionary change towards our aggregated, overarching north star of thriving prosperity for all, while moving forward with developmental growth and progress that is both sustainable and optimal, as much as it is in within our capability and make up. A note on this, please be mindful of providing support while the space is being built. Communication and engagement create boundaries to carry on our day to day with flow and clarity. In rediscovering a standard of thriving productivity, just as a baseline, it's important to look closely at what is needed, while ensuring we course correct from past cycles with new wisdom to optimise ease of focus, collaboration and problem solving. Warmly expressing gratitude is one such strategy that facilitates 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘧𝘶𝘭 engagement, receptivity and reciprocation, and positive, supportive and tolerant interrelational behaviours. Now, with all the wealth of experience that’s increasingly surrounding us about productivity, our values and using our time effectively, and all the abundant scientific research on our brain and nervous systems, it's time to consciously cultivate, support and empower a meaningful life and career, and a bright future. ❤️
