“I’m a Senior Technical Program Lead on the Chick-fil-A Play app, which aims to create moments of connection for families with fun and unique content.    Oftentimes in technology, you don't get to be a part of the initial phases of strategy and planning. It was a really unique experience for me to be part of the vision-casting for this app, including influencing the vision statement for the app and imagining game experiences. As a technologist, being a part of the product inception and design was a lovely experience that I haven't had anywhere else.    Before arriving at Chick-fil-A, Inc., I worked in back-office systems like supply chain merchandising, and so I was focused more on understanding business processes and how to create efficiency. This project, on the other hand, was about creating moments for people. We asked ourselves, ‘How can we demonstrate care through technology?’    From a technology standpoint, we had to figure out the best way to make real-time content updates to the app, and to lay the technical groundwork for what this product would be. I got to work with some of our more senior engineers to lay out that foundation and understand architecture.     The strategy side, the design side, the technology side: I’ve gotten to see this project from so many vantage points. 🌟 Proud to launch our first project: a supermarket management system specifically designed to simplify daily operations in supermarkets and grocery stores.! 🛒💻 After a whole month of hard work and perseverance, my team and I were able to develop an integrated supermarket management system using C++. As the leader of this project, my wise leadership and management were essential to achieve an integrated experience. I guided the team and ensured an organized and efficient workflow to ensure quality in every aspect of the project. First, I would like to extend a special thanks to my wonderful team for their hard work and fruitful cooperation: Nourhan Yasser I would like to extend a special thanks to you for your outstanding role in the project. Your building of the project foundation and your continuous collaboration with team members to improve it were a major axis in achieving success. You showed exceptional commitment and efforts, which had a great impact in achieving our goals. Thank you very much for everything you have provided! I would also like to thank the rest of the team Fatma Hegazy and Hafsa Ibrahim and Shrouk Yasser for your excellent application of object-oriented programming principles, which added a strong technical dimension to the project, contributing to its efficiency and expansion. The system features include: 📦 Inventory management: Easily add, update and delete products, while tracking important details such as price, category and expiration date. 🛒 Sales transaction processing: Speed up sales processes by managing the shopping cart and calculating the total cost with high efficiency. 👥 Customer management: Create and update customer accounts and track purchase records to enhance customer relationships. 🧑🤝🧑 Employee management: Organize roles and permissions, track attendance, working hours and performance. Although the project seems simple, the effort was great, and we learned a lot of new skills and techniques that enhance our ability to develop software. It was great to apply the principles of object-oriented programming (OOP), and explore the concept of inheritance and multiplicity in modeling the relationships between products and employee roles. We are proud to have achieved the highest score! The recruiter will ask about your experience to ensure you fit the role well. 𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗽 💡: Prepare a 30-second pitch about yourself, highlighting your relevant experience and why you want to join the company. Every Job Has a Front-End and a Back-End Think of your role at work like a product—there’s a front-end (the visible, customer-facing side) and a back-end (the internal, behind-the-scenes work). If your main responsibility is front-end, try to keep that focus. Even if you take on back-end tasks that save the company money or solve big issues, those efforts aren’t always seen or recognized. This is especially common in small or startup companies, where resources can be limited, roles are sometimes mixed, and operational experience may be growing. You might find yourself doing valuable back-end work but still facing criticism if your front-end tasks are affected.  My advice: Excel in your primary duties, keep your efforts visible, and help ensure your impact is recognized.
