It has been announced that an investment of $78 million will be made by California’s Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). This investment will go into fifty zero-emission buses, along with forty vehicles that will be powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology. Reflecting on the H2Global Donors’ Conference: A Step Forward for Global Hydrogen Cooperation Last week in Hamburg, the H2Global Donors’ Conference brought together key stakeholders to discuss the future of the global hydrogen economy. In a panel titled “How can we ramp up international H2 markets based on lessons learned,” the spotlight was on international collaboration and the pivotal roles that nations play in advancing hydrogen as a clean energy source. Germany's commitment to the hydrogen sector was highlighted during the discussions, particularly through its collaboration with Canada under the Canada-Germany Hydrogen Alliance. This partnership showcases how countries can leverage their strengths—Canada's clean electricity grid, with over 82% coming from non-greenhouse gas-emitting sources, and Germany's expertise in industrial technology—to create a robust, sustainable hydrogen market. Germany's role in spearheading initiatives like H2Global demonstrates its dedication to fostering international cooperation, ensuring that the hydrogen economy is not only viable but also scalable on a global level. The conference was a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing the urgent need for cleaner energy solutions. Today at the European Hydrogen Week 2024 our CEO has spoken at the High Level Policy Conference in representation of #H2med, a project promoted by #Enagás, Teréga, GRTgaz, REN and OGE. Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri has emphasized that “by linking the entire production and consumption of the #hydrogen value chain, this initiative will be a substantial competitive advantage for our industries and the economies along the corridor”, in reference to the importance of #H2med to boost a new European hydrogen market. With the purpose of identifying the infrastructure needs of the entire hydrogen value chain, Gonzalo Aizpiri has encouraged the sector to participate in the project’s Call for Interest (CFI), which will be open until December 18th. A huge decision to make R$6bn ($1.09bn) available to the development of clean hydrogen hubs, has been made by the Brazilian Government. This money will support the clean hydrogen hubs, whilst also developing the ability to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors.
