📌 – My grandfather was born here. He would have been proud, said the Prime Minister of Norway when opening our new production line recently. 🤩 Around 200 guests were gathered to celebrate this milestone together with us. Many of them local partners, including some wonderful students from the local high school at Glemmen VGS creating an impressive #batterypack cake for the special occasion. 👋 Want a recap or more details? Europe is trying to square a circle: regaining economic ground lost to the United States over the past 20 years while also striving to protect the environment and become more self sufficient. It might not be impossible but it will definitely be expensive. My analysis for Reuters News Agency with first-hand experience from Dr. Rahul Gopalakrishnan at Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering (ABEE) and thoughts from Simone Tagliapietra at Bruegel - Improving economic policy https://lnkd.in/eFi-zce2

High energy costs, low productivity and excessive regulation is having a real impact in Europe, all negative. I hope that Germany will finally make the correct decisions to reduce energy costs, increase productivity and reduce regulation in the future as the quickest way to address this issue is Europe is to get Germany moving forward again. I suspect we will need to wait until the next election as currently Germany has political issues. https://lnkd.in/gGQKMZ8v

MAEVE FACES AN ENERGY FUTURE FILLED WITH BOTH HOPE AND DESPAIR... Maeve is my granddaughter. She's not yet one. But I think about how she'll live her "energy life" in a world filled with petty and polarizing energy politics. It's a world in which progress on the critical balance between environmemtal and economic imperatives; between security and stability of supply choices are impaired by ideologic fringe thinking on both the right and left. "Through Maeve's Eyes" is a new serialized set of reflections I've started to contemplate, decade by decade, how her energy world will unfold as the energy world unfolds, contorts and convulses around her. The first instalment on the Troy Media platform examines my sense of the socio-economic, socio-enviro and socio-political conditions she'll encounter and choices she'll have to make. You can find the piece here: https://lnkd.in/gsXSXaR5 Let me know what your take is. A room with a view Energy security issues and our neighbouring country's EU Presidency were the focus of the recent Strategic Capital Networking (SCN) visit to Budapest with the Environment and Energy Policy Department of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO). In particular, the discussion with László Szabó and Péter Kotek from the REKK Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research at the Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem / Corvinus University of Budapest provided new perspectives. REKK's mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of the Hungarian and regional energy sector through policy-oriented and scientifically sound research. Its particular expertise lies in the area of market modelling. This includes the implementation of energy system transformation, the competitiveness of natural gas, district heating and renewable energy, especially with regard to supply, pricing and licensing issues. REKK's main clients are the European Commission, national regulators and ministries, and energy companies. Another question has become even more pressing: Is the security of gas and oil supplies still guaranteed in the context of the war in Ukraine? What happens if Russia is no longer able to supply these energy sources in the foreseeable future? What impact would this have on energy supply and prices in Austria and its neighbouring countries? REKK plans to publish a policy brief on energy security in the EU, including Austria and Hungary, on its website soon. Until then, we will content ourselves with the view from the REKK meeting room of the beautiful old town houses of Budapest. They have seen a lot in their time. This should give us hope that we too can find ways out of the crises of the present. The results of the REKK study are not based on expectations or fears, but on figures, data and facts. These are always the best conditions for a solution. Special thanks to László Szabó and Péter Kotek for their valuable insights! We stay tuned - Jürgen A. Streitner, Axel Steinsberg, Heinrich R. Ready, set, go❗ Today, Energinet publishes a market survey as a first step to clarify the market’s need for hydrogen #infrastructure. An important first step towards an integrated Danish #hydrogen backbone covering both pipe transportation and storage flexibility. As part of Energinet, we at Gas Storage Denmark have contributed to the survey in relation to storage and flexibility needs. There are many questions that could be asked; we particularly focus on usage, volume, and timeline ▪ how do you expect to use storage ▪ how much do you need ▪ and from when do you need it Please fill in the survey and let us know – we can’t wait to receive your input😊 Survey deadline is 5 May 2024, EOD. Find the survey ➡ https://lnkd.in/drgTwH2P We look very much forward to your answers. And as always; if you have any questions, please contact us 📞
BRINTSPRINT – KLAR, PARAT, SVAR! #brint #hurtighandling #hydrogen #energitiltiden #grønenergiforenbedreverden Brintbranchen, Green Power Denmark, DI - Dansk Industri, Dansk Erhverv

The Swedish Electromobility Centre (SEC) recently held a workshop at SEEL Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory in Borås. The workshop was part of Energy Storage, Roadmap Theme 3, and focused on a critical aspect of electromobility in the future: battery safety. Lars Fast, a Researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and the workshop’s host, highlighted, “Understanding and improving battery safety is essential for advancing sustainable energy systems. Through our engagement in SEC, we work towards safer and more efficient energy storage solutions.” "SEEL is committed to regularly organizing seminars and workshops to foster an innovative climate for researchers and engineers. The workshop, arranged in collaboration with SEC and RISE, marks the start of SEEL’s series of multidisciplinary seminars for partners in Sweden and Europe," says Martin G. H. Gustavsson, Research Director at SEEL. SEC is dedicated to generating knowledge in electromobility and building a foundation for a sustainable society where mobility and environmental consciousness go hand in hand. #Electromobility #BatterySafety #SustainabeEnergy #Innovation #Research #Collaboration
