Luxury is no longer exclusive to a select few. In the world of luxury, democratization is a key driver of its current success. Democratization means that more people than ever can access luxury goods and experiences. This shift has increased the client base for luxury brands, but it also presents the challenge of maintaining exclusivity without becoming too common or "vulgarized." Historically, luxury was a result of social stratification, reserved for the elite. Today, luxury has become it’s creator. Luxury in democratic societies becomes a driver of new forms of social distinction.
