I worked remotely for years before working remote was cool. I was often frustrated that more companies weren’t embracing remote work at that time. There are tons of benefits. But, as the world has moved to remote work as the norm, I’m noticing a disconnect with what working remotely actually means. I’m noticing that remote workers think working remotely also = flexible schedule — meaning they can work whenever it’s convenient for them. Flexible work and remote work are actually two different things. Here’s some things we’re helping clients implement to maintain productivity when working with remote staff: 📈 Tracking metrics and outcomes to ensure work is getting completed well and on time 📓 Creating clear remote work policies that put boundaries around working hours, flex time, and PTO. (We love working with Niki Ramirez, MBA, SHRM-CP, THRP and team at HRAnswers.org for help with this!) Are you having similar challenges with your remote staff?
