The new PDRE is being connected up. The engine is on the bench, moving smoothly on its wheels, after having to adjust the spacing of the rails. The engine is now connected to the load cell. Further progress is awaiting the purchase of four nuts and bolts and eight washers, to mount the back plate. The injectors will be adjusted to create a swirl at the back plate, which will maximise the mixing. We will have two spark plug positions to compare and contrast, one in the centre of the back plate, and one a couple of centimetres in front of it, in the tube wall. What's missing, at the moment, is a Shchelkin spiral. We will have at least two of these, of different lengths, manufactured, for comparison purposes. First bang next week (sans spiral), with any luck. #rocketpropulsion, #pdre, #pulsedetonation, #rocketengine, #propulsion, #propulsionsystems, #rocketmotor, #rocketresearch,

... the development of new BITZER technologies continued at a rapid pace in the 1950s? At first with shell and tube condensers as well as liquid receivers for the company's own unit production and finally with the pioneering entry into the age of motor compressors. The first step was the introduction of the BITZER Hermeta (BH) series in 1954. These hermetic compressors with welded or cast housings had a rated motor power of up to 0.75 kW and were designed for R12 and R22. These two refrigerants were also used in the semi-hermetic compressors of the BHS series manufactured from 1959/60 with a rated motor power of up to 10 kW. #throwbackthursday #shapingthefuturewithyou #90yearsBITZER #weareBITZER #morethanacompressor #greencompetence

As the name suggests, position sensors can give feedback to the machine or the operator letting them know exactly where the cylinder is positioned and how far it is extended or retracted. Here in Burnside Autocyl, we incorporate the sensor within the cylinder itself to offer maximum protection. Uses for this technology include steering position feedback, measuring tilt angle, levelling machines & presetting lift heights for masts in automated storage solutions. Did you know that here at Burnside Autocyl we can offer all types of integrated position sensing technology? We will integrate the right solution in the design of your cylinder for your machine – chat to us today sales@burnside.ie #hydrauliccylinders #burnsideautocyl #positionsensors #positionsensingtechnology #cylindertechnology
