Installing a new topcoat is a simple process. As long as the existing system is intact (no evidence of delamination), it’s a good candidate for a new protective layer. Installation of the topcoat, suitable for this purpose anyhow, should give guidance about surface prep. In the absence of this, a simple de-glossing can be done to create a fresh mechanical profile. The video documents a method to uniformly scratch an existing Chemical Resistant Urethane (CRU). While some cured coatings may de-gloss by solvent alone, this one does not.
