"I have thousands of variables in my dataset, is causal discovery even feasible?" The art of focusing on what's relevant. Causal discovery is often computationally prohibitive for large systems. But this doesn't have to be the case. LDECC (Local Discovery using Eager Collider Checks) only focuses on variables that are relevant to the problem we want to solve. By focusing solely on relevant local structures, the algorithm can provide us with a much more efficient solution than its global counterparts. Moreover, in certain cases, it can be exponentially less computationally expensive than other local methods. See below for the link.
