Generally, the longer HR has been with the company, the more stable the company is. • check if the senior management of that company has been there for a long time and has seen promotions, it further indicates that the company is solid. • if you want to know if your future line manager is good or not, look into what their subordinates are doing and where they are working now. Or simply ask during the interview for 5 contacts/LinkedIn profiles of former/current employees. Also, to check how good and ambitious is a company, look at their current open position list 😉 1. Logging onto work each day, I can’t help but think about how limited opportunities were for many people, both past and present. Personally, after years at a large South African corporation, I found it incredibly difficult to explore other options locally. Expanding my search to international companies, however, opened up a world of exciting possibilities. Has anyone else encountered similar challenges, or perhaps had a different experience? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this topic. My personal view is that in some regions, limited job opportunities or restrictions can hinder career growth. Expanding one's search to include international companies can open doors to new roles, industries, and cultures. Some factors that might contribute to this situation: Geographic Limitations: Some areas may have fewer job opportunities due to economic conditions, industry concentrations, or limited infrastructure. Cultural Barriers: Language, cultural differences, or visa restrictions can make it challenging to find work in certain countries. Lack of Awareness: People may not be aware of the opportunities available in other countries or how to apply for international jobs. It's important to note that the situation can vary greatly depending on the individual, industry, and country. Some people may find it easier to transition to international roles, while others may face significant challenges. Sharing your experiences can provide valuable insights for others who may be considering a similar path.
