PEB Basic Term Part -13 Built-up Curved Rafter Building is a Pre-Engineered Building with curved steel structures which gives special appearance to the building and modular width also can be increased. This style buildings are often designed to provide the users of the structure with natural light and a sense of spaciousness and grandeur in public facilities such as airports, stations, shopping malls, sporting even hall and leisure center. This had led to forms of structures in which relatively light curved steel trusses or arched frames support substantial areas of glazing. Even with clad structures, exposing the arching steelwork to view can enhance the sense of internal space. A Roof System consists of roof rafters, purlins and sheeting specifically designed to install onto a planned or an existing substructure. The substructure is normally made of concrete or masonry Purlins & Girts are secondary structural members used to support the wall and roof panels. Purlins are used on the roof; girts are used on the walls. Source/Credit- PEB Steel Buildings Co., Ltd.

Concrete slabs come in various types, each designed to meet specific structural needs and construction requirements. The most common types include solid slabs, which are simple, flat, and uniformly thick, providing a strong base for floors in residential and commercial buildings. Hollow-core slabs, on the other hand, are pre-stressed concrete elements with hollow spaces inside, making them lighter and more efficient while maintaining strength, often used in large-scale commercial projects or parking structures. Post-tensioned slabs utilize steel tendons placed inside the slab that are tensioned after the concrete has cured, offering increased strength and reduced thickness, ideal for structures with long spans. Ribbed slabs, also known as waffle slabs, feature a grid-like pattern of ribs beneath the surface, providing excellent load-bearing capacity with reduced weight, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications. Lastly, slab-on-grade is a type of foundation where the concrete slab is poured directly on the ground, commonly used for residential buildings and low-rise structures, providing a stable, durable base. Each type of slab serves different functions based on load requirements, span, and building design. #CivilEngineering #InfrastructureDevelopment #ConstructionManagement #StructuralDesign #ProjectManagement #BuiltEnvironment #EngineeringLife #UrbanPlanning #SustainableDesign #ProfessionalEngineer

Concrete Allegro blocks: the go-to solution for custom building projects 😎 We’re often asked about the best way to build retaining walls and storage bays with the limited space available. Storage bays can be particularly tricky to design if there’s not much space for large foundations – or you need flexibility for storing different quantities of materials. You may also need to consider some kind of cover or roof for your storage area if being exposed to the Great British weather might damage the contents. With so many options available, how do you work out the best product or method of construction for your site? We have three ranges of concrete blocks which means you can build walls of almost any size: 🟡 1.5m Allegro® Block 🟡 1.6m Allegro® Block 🟡 1.8m Allegro® Block Each size has its own advantage – for example: You can get 22 of the 1.5m blocks on a load = fewer delivery loads The 1.6m blocks are wider and heavier = can retain heavier materials The 1.8m blocks are the longest in the range = quicker to install As well as the full blocks we also have spreader blocks to widen the base, pointed capping blocks to stop material collecting on the top of the wall – and shorter blocks for finishing ends of walls ✅ #AllegroBlocks #PrecastConcrete #PrecastSolutions

#PCC-AT-SITE PCC has done at site having thickness of 3 inch and Mix design ratio 1:4:8. Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) is a important element in construction, particularly as lean concrete with a mix ratio of 1:4:8 – one part cement, four parts sand, and eight parts coarse aggregate. Reason behind PCC for interior Plinth beams at our site are; (1) PCC is indispensable for providing a solid foundation, notably for interior plinth beams (12"×18") with varying dimensions compared to exterior plinth beams (12"×21"). To address this, we apply 3" thick PCC on the interior sides, ensuring same level after plinth beam ( like 12"×(18"+3")) , structural integrity and stability. (2) One key role of PCC is to create a strong base for the plinth beam, effectively preventing settlement issues during concreting on filling material. Moreover, PCC guarantees a level surface for the interior plinth beam, a crucial factor in maintaining structural stability throughout the construction process. #Construction #CivilEngineering #BuildingMaterials

Floor Fighters & Roof Protectors: Choosing the Right Civil Engineering Options! #ConstructionLife ️ Flooring & Roofing - crucial choices! Here's a quick guide: Flooring: Concrete: Strong, durable, but cold (ideal for high-traffic areas). Tiles: Versatile, water-resistant, but can be slippery (great for kitchens & bathrooms). Wood: Warm, aesthetically pleasing, but requires maintenance (perfect for living areas). Limitations: Consider cost, maintenance, and suitability for the space. Roofing: Shingles: Affordable, lightweight, but susceptible to wind damage (common choice for residential). Metal: Durable, long-lasting, but can be noisy (ideal for commercial buildings). Concrete: Fire-resistant, energy-efficient, but heavy (suitable for flat roofs). Limitations: Consider weather conditions, building type, and weight capacity. Remember: Pick the right material for the job! #CivilEngineering #BuildingKnowledge
