❗Breaking point – the uneven breakage of tablets Some tablets are designed to be broken into smaller dosages. To aid the even breakage a “breakline” is embossed on the tablet punch face. When tablets break unevenly this results in a variation of the weight of the broken parts which may affect eventual dosage. This can happen for the following reasons: ▶️ The tablet is too soft ▶️ Inappropriate breakline design ▶️ Worn or over-polished breaklines ▶️ Detail on the opposite side of the tablet influencing the break pattern.
