Once, a German Chancellor famously said, "If you have a vision, you should see a doctor." In this regard, Helmut Schmidt may have done more harm to his country than he ever did to his own body with his chain smoking. What we need most is a vision of the future — a credible, appealing picture that we can design as beautifully and as detailed as possible. From this vision, our rational brain can perform what’s called "backcasting": breaking down the road to the future into smaller steps and identifying what we should achieve year by year to get there. Meanwhile, the emotional part of the brain can fuel our energy throughout the journey, guiding our decisions along the way. In the remaining part of this year, we’ll be focusing on a series of actions centered around our shared future. The first step is a MISSION WORKSHOP in Berlin, where you can shape YOUR personal vision of the future. Because when individuals are prepared for the future, it helps shape future-ready politics as well. It allows us to articulate more clearly what matters to US. That’s why this workshop is also about one essential thing: your drive, your aspirations, your options for action—your mission. We have space for around 15 people. Inhalt: Prof. Klaus Wirth stellte auf der Fachtagung ein neues Modell für #MECFS vor, das eine belastungsinduzierte #Muskelschädigung (#PEM) als zentrale Ursache sieht, ausgelöst durch mikrovaskuläre Störungen nach Infektionen wie beispielsweise #COVID19. Diese führen zu einer Natrium- und Calciumüberladung in den #Muskelzellen, was die #Mitochondrien schädigt und die Symptome nach Anstrengungen verschlimmert. I am pleased to inform you that our paper entitled "Self-Diagnostic and Self-Compensation Methods for Resistive Displacement Sensors Tailored for in-Field Implementation" has been published in the MDPI Sensors Journal. This paper presents a suitably general model for resistive displacement sensors where the model parameters depend on the current sensor conditions, thereby capturing wearout and failure, and proposes a novel fault detection method that can be seamlessly applied during sensor operation, providing self-diagnostic capabilities. On the basis of the estimation of model parameters, an innovative self-compensation method is derived to increase the accuracy of sensors subject to progressive wearout. Link to the paper:
