For those of you that may not believe that God is in control, something interesting occurred in regards to the Iranian attack on Israel. Allow me to lay the foundation first. In 1987, Tyndale Publishing published The One Year Bible. The One Year Bible is 365 fifteen-minute readings that cover the whole Bible in one year. So in other words, each day's reading includes a portion from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. One of the reading for September 11th is Isaiah 9:10, in which the Israelites fail to repent and return to God and show their arrogance by these words ... “The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.” If you research what happened on September 11th, not only did the "bricks fall" (The Twin Towers) but the cornerstone of the One World Trade Tower was originally built with a 20-ton Flecked Granite stone. (A Dressed Stone) Not only did a Sycamore Tree (a variety of a Fig Tree) fall .. but was replaced with a Cedar Tree. And as a country, since 9/11/2001, the United States has continually turned away from God. Yet we are so arrogant that we believe we control our own destiny, just as the Israelites back in Isaiah's day thought that controlled everything. Hmmm ... Well, one of the readings for April 14th (The attack on Israel started on April 14th (local time)) is Psalms 83:1-18 ... "O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God. See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.” " https://lnkd.in/gmCqrW4V Hmmm ...

The wisdom of the fathers THE DIVINE METHOD OF DEALING WITH THE '' OLD MAN'' Part 1 ...has a way of proceeding against inbred sin. One may be certain that it is a thorough way, and eminently satisfactory both to the soul and to God. It is one of extirpation and destruction. This we would naturally expect from God. Who could believe that He would be satisfied with inbred sin, or the work of the devil left in the heart? The writer once heard a preacher say that '' any experience that was not satisfactory to a Christian could not possibly be so to God." This was a wonderful utterance, and as true as the gospel, for the Word of God teaches the same thing. The question arises: Can God remove or destroy inbred sin in the soul? If we say that He cannot, then has the devil done a work that God cannot undo, and we have a creature towering above the Creator. In a word, God is not all-powerful. If we say that God can destroy inbred sin but will not, then we have a being in the skies lacking in love and pity for his creatures, and actually allowing sin to abide in the soul when it is in His power to remove it. The divine command in the Bible is not to "cover sin," but this idea just advanced makes God a coverer of sin as well as man. So we are driven back upon the blessed truth that God can and will destroy all sin in the soul. And this is just what the Bible teaches throughout. The figures used to describe the work are most powerful. In one place the symbol of fire is used. There is no more destructive agency than fire. This is recognized in the physical world. God takes this well-known figure of destructive power, and promises the baptism of the Holy Spirit and of fire to burn out the remainder of iniquity. (to be continued) (from "The Old Man" by B. Carradine)

#DidYouKnow? There were some among the Babel tower builders who feared the Lord but had been deceived by the ungodly and drawn unto their schemes. Anyway, those that feared the Lord might have cried unto the Lord to intervene. “And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built” (Gen 11:5). God could have killed them, but in His own wisdom and love, He destroyed the purpose of the tower builders. [Lesson/Reflection] Let’s develop and cultivate the culture of vigilance to avoid all the schemes of the evil one. In light of this, we must totally depend on God’s word, studying and meditating on it daily. Remember that putting on the whole armor of God will help us stand against the schemes of the evil one (Eph 6:11). Moreover, present your case to God in prayer; say something when you see something in order to save those friends from going astray. Reference: Patriarchs and Prophets, chapter 10 — E. G. Here’s some interesting research!
Our friends at American Bible Society recently reported in the "State of the Bible: USA 2024" that “Gen Z adults who engage with the Bible—reading it regularly and applying it to their lives—experience half the anxiety of their peers.” See: StateoftheBible.org.
