Step 1: How to book your outpatient appointments 6 weeks ahead. If you are booking more than 6 weeks ahead then I recommend that your stop this. Why? 1. You will have more control over who and when you book into your outpatient appointments 2. You can book in chronological order 3. You can reduce your long waiters 4. You can adapt your clinics more quickly 5. You will improve your DNA and short notice cancellation rate Step 1 is very simple: Identify who many weeks you are booking ahead. Do's Check your Trust EPR to get the most accurate picture Look at when the next available clinic is available Look at when the next available clinic is for the whole team Look at when the next available clinic is for a each specialisation eg hip, knee, hand and wrist, Don't Use hearsay as to when your are booking ahead Use something that is not today and was told to you a few weeks/months ago Look for when the next appointment is available What did you come up with?
