What happens when politicians run out of your money to spend and tell you the wealthy will pay thier fare share to help! Simple, you will pay more and they will say it’s about fairness for everyone. The “wealthy” are always smart enough to avoid these PR stunts anyway! Newsflash, the politicians and thier donors are “the weathy” and it’s not like they ever pay thier fair share. It’s time to end the gravy train for all of them. It’s time for massive government “fat trimming” and new leadership in 2024! It’s time for an election, and new management! https://lnkd.in/gNw7Agp9

The death of a spouse hits hard, even if it's expected. Financially, no one is really ready for it, and widows/widowers will likely take a hit to their wallets in many ways. Even professionals who normally manage money can make mistakes at this time as grief overwhelms. For Barron's I spoke to financial advisors and someone who personally experienced for their advice. If you think this advice is only for the elderly, it's not. The average age of a widow is 59 1/2. #estateplanning #financialplanning #spouse #widow https://lnkd.in/gFqmCv6H

Although everyone needs a will, not everyone needs a trust. Trusts are routinely used in the following situations: - If the person wishes to keep their estate planning private. Wills are public record when you die, whereas a Trust never becomes public record. - Beneficiaries with Special Needs: Making sure that distributions to these individuals don't jeopardize that individual’s ability to qualify for benefits that are tied to income. - Planning for multiple generations especially in blended families. I hope the comments on this don’t devolve into a political dumpster fire, what I’m about to say is important. Why does the government suck? A lot of reasons. But one of the biggest ones is more OUR fault than theirs. We have gotten FAR too laissez-faire when it comes to our own communities and neighborhoods. We look to government to solve problems that WE should be addressing at a grassroots level. “Why doesn’t the gov do x” or “the gov should Y” are two of the most common comments we get when we make posts about the work we do combatting trafficking or housing homeless veterans or any number of things yall see us doing. We did it without the government for a few reasons and would like it to stay that way. First of all, these are OUR neighbors and OUR streets. We have a moral obligation to do something about them. Second, gov brings with it a necessary level of bureaucracy and yall know how I feel about bureaucracy (it kills people). The problems we tackle require moving swiftly, nimbly, and being able to adjust fire in response to VERY dynamic atmospherics on the ground. The leviathan of federal government isn’t generally known for being able to do that. I think if we all started looking to our own communities to address certain things, a few things would happen: We’d see greater unity and cohesion in said communities. And We’d see less resentment towards the leviathan for things best left to grassroots And We’d all get along much better as we build bonds around service to our fellow man and woman Thoughts?

Revocable trusts can be more expensive and time-consuming to set up initially. Nevertheless, they save the beneficiaries time and money after the death of the grantor (the person creating the trust). They can be a little more difficult for people to understand than the traditional last will and testament. However, the overall pros usually outweigh the negatives. #RevocableTrust #EstatePlanning101 #FinancialWisdom
