🚘 The USCAR Smart Manufacturing Workshop in Motor City! Insightful presentations and panel discussions on the Roadmap for Automotive Smart Manufacturing that featured Rep. Brenda Lawrence, Former United States Representative, Dan Nicholson, VP, Strategic Technology Initiatives, General Motors; Christopher Saldaña, Director of the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) and many others. 👉 Transforming and contextualizing industrial data, and encapsulating the data in an accessible and scalable Information Model is critical for driving business outcomes in manufacturing. John Dyck, CEO at CESMII, and Jonathan Wise, Chief Technology Architect at CESMII, dived into enabling flexible and agile processes, promoting data interoperability through open standards, and fostering a Smart Manufacturing Mindset through workforce development initiatives. They highlighted the need for standardized machine data interfaces like USCAR-53 to enable plug-and-play interoperability and eliminate data silos and vendor lock-in. This effort by USCAR and CESMII is important to drive productivity, competitiveness, and resilience of the U.S. automotive manufacturing sector by leveraging digital technologies, fostering collaboration, and empowering the workforce.
