I have just about finished reflecting from last Thursday’s People Planet Pint! We decided to mix things up this time, so in addition to the usual ‘networking’ (casual chatting), we invited Tim Bloomer (owner, and now sustainability director) along from the local business, Fell Brewery.  He gave a brilliant and honest talk about their sustainability journey and it was inspiring to hear from someone so authentically passionate about sustainability. My key takeaways: 1.        Measuring your emissions is a key first step and investing time into collecting comprehensive and thorough Scope 3 emissions is crucial to being able to understand the impact of different aspects of your business (as opposed to a simplistic spend-based approach). 2.        The picture is complex, as is the way with carbon and supply chains. It’s important to be able to communicate this to customers. 3.        Investing in sustainability increases profitability. This wasn’t the driver for Fell Brewery, but Tim wanted to highlight the importance of this, as it may be an incentive to some! Our life depends on Sustainability. Be it environment sustainability or sustainable development or sustainable consumption or production. Today anything we talk, do, think- it's all about a sustainable future. It's high time to revise the definition and horizon of CSR from Corporate Social Responsibility to Corporate Sustainable Responsibility. This will increase the horizon from just social responsibility to holistic environment responsibility and make us more accountable.

It’s fantastic for LEWIS to gain this rating and see everything the team are doing across understanding and education in ESG to build a better more purpose led vision for the business or clients and our supply chain.
