Graduation was a big milestone filled with dreams and excitement. As I entered the professional world, I discovered some important lessons. I initially underestimated the power of networking. Connecting with mentors and attending industry events opened doors I didn’t expect. I was focused on landing a job at a big company, but I found that smaller firms and startups offered valuable hands-on experience and faster growth. I thought graduation meant the end of learning, but staying updated with industry trends and acquiring new skills has been crucial for my career. Technical skills are important, but I learned that communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are just as vital. I used to wait for everything to be perfect before taking action, but embracing imperfections and moving forward led to unexpected opportunities. Navigating your career involves learning and adapting. Celebrate each step and keep evolving—you’re shaping your future with every experience. #CareerJourney #NewGrads #Networking #ContinuousLearning #SoftSkills #ProfessionalGrowth

🤔Jack of all trades, a master of one, or something even better? Which is you? 🚀 . . . In today's fast-paced world, our skills define how we contribute to teams, build careers, and adapt to challenges. 🌟🔧 💡The 4 Career Archetypes: 1️⃣ I-Shaped 🔍 You're curious, versatile, and can dabble in various areas, but you're yet to master a specific skill. Here lack of knowledge in different expertise can limit your growth in specialized roles. 2️⃣ -- Shaped 🌐 The Generalist - has broad number of responsibilities but is not master in any of the skills. The main struggle is lack of expertise in any one core skill. 3️⃣ T-Shaped 🏹 You're the sweet spot—The vertical bar in a "T" represents skills where a person has expertise, while the top horizontal bar shows skills they are familiar with but not highly specialized in.💪 4️⃣ M-Shaped 🌟 You're the powerhouse—expert in several areas, with a solid foundation across others. But high expectations and constant upskilling can be exhausting. 🚀 🔗 Why Does It Matter? Your skills shape your story—what's your letter? Understanding your "shape" is more than a label; it's about aligning your skills with your goals: where "T" and "M" shapes drive impact, while startups love "I" and "--" shaped talent for their willingness to learn and grow. 📈 💬 Over to You: 👉 Which one are you right now: "I," "T," "--," or "M"? 👉 Which one do you aspire to be? 🤨 Drop your thoughts below! Let's start a conversation and learn from each other's journeys. 🚀💬 #CareerGrowth #SpecialistVsGeneralist #PersonalDevelopment #Learning #SkillAcquisition #Challenges #Strengths #TShapedProfessional #IShapedProfessional #MShapedProfessional #Coding #Specialist #Generalist #Coder

Should You Learn or leap in your career? Many of my clients, especially when considering a career change, looking for a new job, or aiming for a promotion, often feel they need to acquire many more skills before making a move. Whether it’s getting a master’s degree, attending a boot camp, or signing up for various training programs, the common thought is: “I’m not skilled enough yet.” While I’m all for continuous learning, I’ve noticed that the real issue often isn’t a lack of skills. Instead, it’s about how you perceive your own value and self-worth. 💡 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: Before enrolling in a new course or program, take a moment to reflect on the skills and experiences you already have. ❓ Ask yourself if you have enough to get started in that new role or position. Often, you’ll find that it is. The risk with endlessly pursuing new qualifications is that you might spend months or even years in learning mode, without gaining the actual experience you need. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄? Step out of your comfort zone and take on roles that stretch you. Learn on the go, gain hands-on experience, and trust that you can adapt and grow in real-time. 📈 If you’re unsure, seek advice from industry peers. Don’t fall into the trap of constant learning without ever stepping up to new challenges. This approach has worked for me, and it can work for you, too. Remember, growth happens when you take the leap—learning is just the start. P.S. BTW, I love learning, but I do not like school! I always learn by reading, listening to podcasts, or taking courses. I just don’t use it as an inhibitor for not stretching myself and taking leaps. P.P.S. That is how I learn and work in my PJ, and I am so grateful for being able to do so. #CareerGrowth #WomenInTech #Leadership #SelfWorth #ContinuousLearning #CareerAdvice
