#openposition #postdoc #hiring #environmentalpsychology https://lnkd.in/dFnip8uZ 📢 Application deadline: 19.08.2024 Work in an exciting inter-disciplinary Horizon Europe project “MultiFutures”. The project as a whole will research socio-economic policies and paradigms (e.g., circular economy) that could complement or even present alternatives to the current policy landscape and economic paradigm in Europe. One of the key aims of the project is to understand the impact of potential policy changes on the economy, and on social and environmental sustainability, as well as public acceptance of the policy changes that would be required. The postdoc’s work will focus in large part on policy acceptance and on perceived social, environmental, and economic policy impacts, drawing on perspectives from environmental and social psychology, behavioral economics and other social sciences and using empirical methods such as experiments and online surveys (with a plan to collect data from 10,000+ participants).

Second week into Social Research! 🧑💻➡️🧠 If you’d asked me whether I’d prefer qualitative or quantitative research before, I’d have jumped to say the non-maths, no-formulas option 😅. But here I am, debating if systematic reviews are basically the same as quantitative studies in its numbers and clear path. Social research isn’t just about asking questions they say; it’s about broadening perspectives, becoming less judgmental, and understanding the world through different lenses. Of course there's Ontology and epistemology to guide our opinions but I can say that it’s definitely turning me into a more empathetic and analytical human! 💡✨ #SocialResearch #LearningCurve

Its an odd feeling to write our first post with 0 followers as we just get started as a new research group at the University of Oklahoma. We are a team of transdisciplinary researchers that are using traditional statistical techniques to merging various social sciences, from sociology to politics and psychology, with data and natural science to try to understand the motivation and attitudes of Americans in relation to critical topics regarding the environment and energy. #EnvironmentalSocialScience #SocialPsychology #DataScience #SustainableFuture #WeatherPerception #MoralFoundations #EnergyTranistion #ConspiracyTheories https://lnkd.in/g57y8tzM

Struggling to find a unique research topic? I've been there and what's helped me is to answer this simple question: ✅ WHAT RESEARCH CONTEXTS HAVE BEEN STUDIED? Discover areas completely overlooked or underexplored by examining these research contexts in the literature: 🔎 Geography: physical locations/geographic regions investigated 🔎 Temporal: time frame of when prior studies were conducted 🔎 Organizational: organizational structures examined (e.g., businesses) 🔎 Population: characteristics of the groups studied 🔎 Methodological: the tools used to conduct research 🔑 Key Takeaway Examining research contexts investigated in prior literature can help you identify potential biases or limitations, and ultimately design more robust and innovative research projects. So, if you're feeling stuck when picking a new research topic, ask yourself, "What Research Contexts Have Been Studied?" ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ I'm Joseph Rios, the founder of Grad Student Academy. Follow me if you enjoyed this content. I write about research 🔬 and writing ✍🏽 to help PhD students and postdocs publish their work consistently.
