𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝? We’ve got something fascinating to share! Check out this video showcasing a lice simulation from around 𝟓𝟎 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 in Vestfjorden, Lofoten. 🦠🌬️ From August 15 to September 5, the video visualizes how lice spread with ocean currents in just a few weeks. 🎥 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬? The pattern reveals that lice from all locations converge into four distinct clusters. Even more interesting is what happens inside the fjords - like Tysfjorden. Here, the lice seem to “surf” around almost exclusively within the fjord. This means if one site gets lice, the other sites in that fjord are almost guaranteed to be affected too.

I'm so excited to hear about Strava's latest announcements at Camp Strava! As a female cyclist, I'm particularly interested in the features that will make cycling safer and more accessible for women. - Strava's rolling out Night Heatmaps, which is a fantastic way to see which routes are most popular during low-light hours and which areas are safest. This will definitely help people feel safer when out riding solo. - Second, the Family Plans feature is a game-changer. Their annual subscription isn't cheap, so I hope it will encourage folks to sign up with friends/family and split the cost so they can enjoy all the paid features together! You can sign up with a riding buddy to motivate each other! - Let's talk about DARK MODE. This new feature is going to be a lifesaver for those early morning or late-night training sessions. No more getting blinded by my phone screen. - The Quick Edit feature sounds super handy too. No more messing around trying to fix typos or add forgotten details after my ride – I can just make those edits on the fly and there are a few less steps to make it as easy as possible. - Right now, too many club groups are using other platforms for the "organizing" and communicating piece. This is why I never started a club page for TUFF stuff, but I've started one now in anticipation of the community updates that are coming. Strava has the ability to bring people TOGETHER and they're focusing on that. - Finally, Athlete Intelligence is something I'm really curious about. It sounds like Strava is using their mountains of data to help us all train smarter and achieve our cycling goals. I can't wait to see what kind of insights this unlocks and I think it'll give women a better understanding about training and help with motivation. Overall, I'm stoked about these announcements from Strava. They're clearly focused on making the platform more inclusive and supportive for female athletes, and that's something I can definitely get behind.
Accelerating innovation so we can all progress, together. 🤝 New features announced today (hello Dark mode and Athlete Intelligence!) at Camp Strava can be read here. https://lnkd.in/gs8kxv8K
