A supply planner is responsible for forecasting and managing availability across multiple suppliers, all to maximize sales. A lot of the products that that I work with are fresh, so bananas, strawberries, so they obviously get grown in whatever country of origin that they get grown in. We're kicking off here at the supplier stage. We deal with hundreds of suppliers across the world on frozen, grocery and chilled to maximize sales and availability. It's key that we have very strong healthy relationships. Iceland is like a family for me. My last job I was made redundant and I came into Iceland and I genuinely thought I'd be here for six months. I've now been here nearly eight years because the feel of it is they want you to grow. Welcome to the factory stage. This is where our suppliers produce all of the stock for our Iceland stores from Europe through to the Far East. So demand planning is all about pushing stock out from the depots. So stock comes in as a raw material into the depots and then it is. Pushed out through demand planning and forecasting to each store from the factory to our distribution centre. This is where the supply planners order all of our stock and it's picked daily for over 1000 stores. We work with the main supplier who source those products and then we work with them to get them into our depots and then into stores. So each stall have a an older generation each day for each product with produce it's sending weekly forecasts out. So then the supplier will then work to and produce to those forecasts and they will send it into depot. From Dapper, we then send it out to one of our 1000 stores and that split between our core and food warehouse stores. I've been left the distribution centre, we've arrived in the retail section. This is where the fruits of all the planners labours can be seen with the cabinets and the shelves fully stocked ready for our customers. Often the first thing we do in the morning is deal with due orders and new stores. So due orders can be anything from stores breakdowns, stock levels, whereas new stores is a little bit. More complex and it's all to do with making sure the store looks perfect for their opening day. And now we arrive at the customer and this is where they get to enjoy all the fantastic products that we deliver. But that wouldn't be possible without the help and support of our supply partners. Working at Iceland is always something different, no day is the same at all. But I think that's what keeps things interesting and I think that's that's why I enjoy it as well. Here in supply chain, there's a real sense of endless opportunities and where you can go with your career. They support you. They've helped me grow my career from raw material to customer. That's what being a supply planner is all about.
