It certainly does! And most people in management and leadership positions don’t even realise to what extent they make or break an employee. Leadership training WITH emotional intelligence is a must for all leadership teams! #leadership #management

Great insights on the value of leadership training! Thanks for sharing this Center for Creative Leadership, and great insights Dean Elkholy As a senior leader in the Army, I've seen leaders transform entire teams, both positively and negatively.. What are some effective solutions you have seen for engaging in a professional dialogue with those leaders that lack emotional intelligence and diminish their teams? Leading as an effective follower is just as important to the betterment of the team. I would love to hear more ideas. Feel free to connect!

I agree with Dean Elkholy that leadership training is a necessity. Unfortunately, so many organizations see it as a waste of time and money. I suppose that depends on the who's and how's of the training development and delivery, and on whether there is a plan to reinforce the learning afterward. It's an important investment with long-lasting ripples! #leadership #training #manager #manufacturing

Leadership isn’t just about steering a business; it’s about nurturing an environment where mental health is as valued as performance. As leaders, recognising diversity and inclusion as cornerstones of team effectiveness is critical. When we welcome a tapestry of perspectives, we’re fostering a space where people can bring their whole selves to work without fear of burnout or insecurity. It’s about respect that permeates through ranks, creating a collective resilience that thrives on mutual support and understanding. When management leads with empathy, it acts as a safeguard for mental health, creating a buffer against the pressures that can lead to burnout. It’s about ensuring that every voice is heard, every concern is addressed, and every success is celebrated - together. By prioritising the well-being of our teams, we’re not just enhancing productivity; we’re building a legacy of trust and respect that echoes beyond the walls of our offices. Let’s lead not just by example, but by genuine commitment to the well-being of our teams. #Leadership #MentalHealth #DiversityAndInclusion #TeamEffectiveness #HumanizX

Management matters. As supervisors, it is critical that we see how our actions and our words impact our teams. How does the way that I show up and engage with my employees help them understand our purpose, and motivate them to engage with others? Am I building them up and helping them grow, or am I tearing them down? I have worked with managers with a variety of approaches to supervision, and the ones who I have always looked up to are those who care. My current supervisor holds me to the highest standard, but she also respects my autonomy, listens to my concerns, and amplifies my voice when it comes to issues that matter. Her interactions with me are those centered around reflection, empowerment, and advancement. She has re-instilled a stronger sense of confidence in my abilities, and has celebrated my work, and my team, in so many ways. How she shows up matters. It directly impacts my ability to show up for my team. When you are genuinely cared for and have a supervisor who actively shows up and supports your growth, work feels so different. Employees matter. Jobs that continually lead to feelings of burnout, insecurity, and anxiety are positions better left vacant. This holds especially true if managers are actively contributing to those feelings with their words and actions. Work should only be part of your life, and not the majority of it. If you're not actively at work or serving on call, how often is your brain still thinking about work? How often are you checking your email when you're home? How frequently do you wake up tired because you were thinking about work (or dreaming about it) all night? When you are unable to ever disconnect from work due to those feelings of anxiety and burnout, it's important to assess where you are, and where you would like to head. Your wellness, your mental health, and your ability to live, and not just survive matters.
