Mplus expands into the agri-food sector, facilitated by a partnership with Slovenian industry giant Skupina Panvita. The value of the transaction, which includes an investment in Panvita Group, amounts to EUR 50 million. Panvita Group is one of the most prominent Slovenian agricultural and food market actors dedicated to the sustainable production of high-quality food, leading vertically integrated chains of agricultural companies; it employs over 700 people and cultivates more than 3,500 hectares of agricultural land. For the financial year 2022, Panvita Group reported over EUR 117 million in revenues and EBITDA of more than EUR 10,3 million. This collaboration exemplifies a broader trend of tech companies extending their influence into diverse sectors, as Poslovni dnevnik highlighted. It will strengthen Panvita’s market position and prime us for potential acquisitions in the Adriatic and DACH regions as Mplus actively explores opportunities that complement Panvita's business model. Wadia, Chairman of the company, and Ness N. Wadia (Nusil Wadia’s son), Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the company, combined stake in the company is 0.0102%. The majority stake (44.76%) is held by Associated Biscuits International Ltd (ABIL), headquartered in the UK. The remaining stakeholders have very minimal holdings (~1% each) in correspondence to ABIL. Now here is the most interesting part, Associated Biscuits International Ltd (ABIL) is an investment holding company whose ultimate holder is The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd. which is part of Wadia Group. So, ultimately, that 44.76% stake is also held by the Wadia group itself. Interesting Right? Not only this the other promoter holding companies Bannatye Ent., Dowbiggin Ent., Nacupa Ent., Spargo Ent., and Valletort Ent. are all wholly owned subsidiaries of ABIL!
