DON'T LOOK UP We are sleepwalking through a day to day reality that truly is dystopian. Everything we know and take for granted as Our World is rapidly coming to an end. Collectively we are doing NOTHING to change our behaviour, our habits, to reduce consumption, change diet, use less, and try to slow down and mitigate the climate collapse that's taking place all over the planet, no escaping it. Politicians are doing NOTHING. Not taking a lead in any way that's meaningful and turns to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. No not likely. Instead 'we', collectively are INCREASING consumption, energy use, waste streams, pumping out MORE CO2 than every other before. Granting NEW licenses for MORE fossil fuel extraction. It is insane. It is grotesquely irrational and totally irresponsible. Yet 80% of UK population WANT government to make change happen... THE END OF ORGANISED HUMAN EXISTENCE is coming and IT'S NOT ON THE AGENDA It's cognitively dissonant. How long do we stand by and do NOTHING?
Today, top climate scientists announced findings showing that climate change is proceeding faster than ever, and we now have just five years to turn it around by reducing carbon emissions or we risk everything we hold dear. It's on the BBC news bulletins. When you look at their News webpage, there is nothing. Fair enough, D-Day deserves publicity, but nothing?! If there was an asteroid hurtling towards us and going to hit the Earth in five years, do you think they would think, say, 'Biden's border plan' would be more important or more urgent?
