EY was in Bangkok last week to provide technical assistance at the Regional Workshop organized by the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee on the End-Term Review of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 and Development of the ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan (ACSP). Many thanks to the support from the Australia for ASEAN Futures (Aus4ASEAN Futures) Initiative. Over the course of three days, we presented to and engaged deeply with sectoral officials, country representatives and external partners to gather inputs for the ACSP. The six key areas of the new connectivity strategic plan are envisioned to be: (i) sustainable infrastructure, (ii) smart and sustainable urban development, (iii) digital innovation, (iv) seamless logistics and supply chains, (v) regulatory excellence and cooperation, and (vi) people-to-people connectivity. This is another step towards the finalization of the strategy - we'll continue to draft, consult, and refine to ensure we capture the perspectives of ASEAN stakeholders. Connectivity is the bedrock of economic integration and sustainable economic and social development in the region. But the cross-cutting nature of the issues presents challenges - working closely with the brilliant team at ASEAN Connectivity Division, we strive to turn these challenges into opportunities to drive successful implementation. #asean https://lnkd.in/duX6X-z9

Coupled with sustainability efforts, it promotes eco-friendly practices by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and supporting the use of renewable resources throughout the logistics process.

Had a productive meeting with Luciano Pezzotta , Deputy Chairman of EuroCham, where we discussed the pivotal role of strong Business Chambers in Malaysia. Collaboration and co-creation are essential in today's business landscape, and business chambers can serve as crucial facilitators in fostering partnerships. We also explored the significance of digital infrastructure for companies looking to establish or expand their presence in Malaysia. Connectivity and cloud services are critical components of national infrastructure that can differentiate countries and attract foreign investments. It is great to see Malaysia's global recognition for its advancements in providing high-performing, secure, reliable, and affordable connectivity. Malaysia’s 5G network is today ranked top 5 in the world. We can see an a very strong consumer uptake of 5G and now the focus should be to leverage on 5G to drive digital transformation and innovation for enterprises. During our meeting, we discussed how we can leverage on the Business Chambers to accelerate this digital transformation journey. We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us, so let's collaborate and work together to make it happen!
