A couple of days left. Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2024. This is 𝙈𝙀❗ I am that neurodivergent worker with 𝗔.𝗗.𝗗. Leaders, here is the deal. I learn in different ways. I retain knowledge in different ways. I perform tasks in different ways. I execute on work in different ways. And none of those different ways makes me, or any other neurodivergent person with A.D.D. who is aware and practicing what works best for them, any 𝙇𝙀𝙎𝙎 effective or productive! 🧠 Actually, often it’s quite the opposite. Especially when I’m given the freedom to work in ways that work best for me. Get to 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀 on a more personal level. Support them to feel more comfortable in opening up about their struggles and strategies for success. 💥 Practice empathy. 💥 Create psychological safety. 💥 Built trust. 💥 Listen to understand. 💥 Collaborate on actions. If you want your organization to succeed then you need to provide a great 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 so employees are more inclined to provide a great customer experience. 🗣️👂🏼 Part of that is 𝗔𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 your team how they learn best and how they are most productive. Then working with them to accommodate those methods. 💼 I’ve reached the point in my career where I won’t work for a company, a leader, or take on a client, who doesn’t respect me. Part of respecting and valuing me and my expertise is respecting my learning style and approach. There’s no point in setting anyone up for failure. Check out some of these great resources and events still occurring this week… https://lnkd.in/ej5zCbDN https://lnkd.in/egpJiUqh Are you a neurodivergent thinker and could use some support and guidance on navigating your workplace and career❓ Or a leader looking to develop strategies to support your neurodivergent employees❓ 📲Let’s chat and see if my coaching or advisory can assist you in achieving success. https://lnkd.in/eWur6svu 🏆 Create a win-win! #neurodivergent #neurodiversityatwork #adhd #workplace #leaders #culture #teams #career #keepitreal #learninganddevelopment #leadershipcoaching #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #NCW

Inclusion is a journey, and over the past two years, Keystone Human Services has been exploring how Inclusion International’s Listen Include Respect global guidelines can impact an organization that provides direct support. During the June Summit on June 18, 2024, we highlighted some of the work that has been done across Keystone recently along with our partners from Inclusion International Jordan – ibaa khalil, Project Manager; new adopters of the Listen Include Respect guidelines Tukena Foundation in Finland (formerly KVPS)- Kirsi Konola, CEO and Petra Rantamäki, Development Director; and Inclusion Advisors Joe Robbie and Catherine Watson from the Down's Syndrome Association. Tia Nelis, #ListenIncludeRespect Consultant with Inclusion International, introduced the creation of Inclusion International’s World Congress being held in September 2025 in which Listen Include Respect advocates can experience peer-to-peer support, share ideas, and learn from one another. “My vision is that we will continue to innovate our services and evolve so we can continue to meet people’s wants and not just their needs,” said Charles Sweeder, President and CEO of KHS. “We value each person’s humanity and how they would like their life or services to look, including what they want, their opinions, and feedback, which drives their plan,” said Janae Yoder, Behavioral Health Specialist. Capital Area Head Start, which serves families who speak 29 different languages and come from 30 different countries, works to promote diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environments in all its centers for children, families, and staff. “Early education environments that actively promote diversity and inclusion are the fertile grounds where young minds learn to appreciate the rich mosaic of humanity,” said Kayle Richardson, Director of Employee and Program Development for Capital Area Head Start. “To continue to move forward, it takes all of us,” said Courtney Soto, the new Engagement Manager working with people accepting services and leadership to develop and implement comprehensive inclusion strategies aligned with our mission and values. Early in their career, a colleague learned an important lesson about cultural competence. During a session, they jumped straight into an assessment without engaging in the customary small talk important in their client's culture. This oversight made the session awkward and less productive. It was a clear reminder of how crucial it is to respect and adapt to different cultural practiceinwhen working with a diversity of people.. Cultural competence involves: Being aware of one's own background and how it influences behaviour, ensuring this doesn't negatively impact work relationships. Understanding and respecting other cultures. This means learning about the traditions and values of people one works with and valuing their unique perspectives. Adapting one's approach to better align with the cultural needs of clients and colleagues, which not only shows respect but also makes work more effective. These principles have transformed how professionals connect with others, leading to deeper relationships and better business outcomes. 📅 Join Our Live Events Our online Journal Club, Reflective Workshops and Masterclasses are designed to support aspiring clinical psychologists develop and improve their cultural competence. Whether just starting or hoping to polish their skills, these sessions will offer useful insights and practical advice. ✨ Don't miss this chance to grow and learn with others who are committed to making inclusivity a core part of their work. 📍https://lnkd.in/eT9gd2CX #CulturalCompetence #ProfessionalDevelopment #Inclusivity
