Why have we given so much importance to THE MEDAL? So much so that a person—one of the best in the world—suddenly starts hating the sport and decides to quit it forever? Is the medal a true reflection of hard work and skills? Think about it. The whole world knows what Vinesh Phogat has achieved in this Olympics, beating the 4-time world champion Yui Susaki and entering the finals. Why does she think she lost? All we saw was her winning! It's just some technicalities that took the medal away, but does that mean she lost or is not a good enough player? How can we let a medal define our worth? She is a medal in herself! Doesn't this reflect the broader reality of today's world? We all are seeking medals in the form of job titles, luxury cars, etc., and for what? To get validation and approval from society by showing them off! And we get sad when we don't get one and start thinking that life is difficult and we have lost.

Today, I close a chapter that has been the most transformative journey of my life. After 7 years with bijnis, I’m stepping down from my operational role. I still remember the early days. Straight out of MBA, I thought I knew what it took to build something. But Bijnis became my real education. It taught me the kind of grit that goes beyond late nights and the resilience you need when everything seems to be going against you. I learned that building a company is more than targets and growth charts; it’s about people. To my co-founders- Chaitanya R Rathi, Siddharth Rastogi & Siddharth Vij - you were more than partners—you became my family. I leaned on you more times than I can count, and each of you taught me something different about leadership, friendship, and perseverance. To the entire Bijnis team - Sachin Chauhan, Shwetank Patni, Saurabh Singh Kardam, Arsh Kumar Verma, Sharad Verma - thank you for making this journey so meaningful. You’ve inspired me, pushed me to grow, and taught me lessons that go far beyond work. I’m deeply grateful to have had each of you as part of my life. As I take a short break to recharge and reflect, I’m excited about what’s next. There’s a new idea brewing, one that draws from everything I’ve learned and feels like the natural next step. I’ll share more when the time is right. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this: hold tight to those who believe in you. People are everything—the right ones can turn even the simplest idea into something extraordinary. Here’s to the new beginning of a new chapter - with hope, grit, and gratitude. 🌱

#SINKorSWIM #ResilienceInAdversity Meaning: This represents the strength people find in times of hardship. This hashtag emphasizes the importance of struggles in shaping one's strength and the ability to overcome tough situations, which is a core message of the image. #DefiningMoments Meaning: In life, we often encounter moments that force us to make a choice, which can define our future. This hashtag reflects the pivotal decision between "sinking" and "swimming" that can shape one's destiny. #RiseAboveChallenges Meaning: The idea of swimming rather than sinking in the face of hardship represents rising above the challenges that life presents. This hashtag embodies the act of rising and thriving, no matter how overwhelming the situation may seem. #PowerOfChoice Meaning: The message of the image highlights that the choice to succeed or fail often lies within us. This hashtag underscores the power of making the right choices when faced with life's toughest moments. #TurnPainIntoPower Meaning: Strong individuals often have painful stories that fuel their drive. I had the pleasure of attending the Mitie High Potential event yesterday—not as one of the high potentials, mind you, just an observer. It was fantastic to be in the midst of Mitie's top account and delivery teams. During the session, Frost & Sullivan presented an insightful analysis of the UK facilities management market and its participants, shedding light on the current trends. It got me pondering about motivation and drive, both on a personal level and within the company. How do you stay motivated when you're at the top of your game? How do you push yourself to improve just a little bit each day? Whether you're Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Siya Kolisi of the South Africa Rugby Team, or working in an FM company like ours, what drives performance, and what metrics do you use? Is it the Dave Brailsford approach of incremental gains? His philosophy of "the aggregation of marginal gains" focuses on making small improvements in everything you do, believing that these tiny changes can add up to remarkable results. Or do you measure large absolute changes; trophies or revenue or numbers of contracts at year end? So, what is it that drives us in FM? Is it how many contracts we've won or retained? Is it being voted the best place to work? Or is it something more personal, like the satisfaction of seeing those incremental improvements in our daily tasks? For me, it’s recognising that we are slightly better today than we were last week, last month, and last year. It’s about delivering to our people, our clients, and through these improvements, our stakeholders. However, what motivated me today was beating my personal best on the ride into work on this lovely day!! #mitie #highpotential #motivation
