Bullying is a daily reality for many LGBTIQ students – and it’s on the rise. The #LGBTIQSurvey from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights shows troubling trends in education. LGBTIQ issues are now addressed more positively in the classrooms. Yet, many LGBTIQ people face bullying, ridicule, teasing, insults or threats. 📊 Nearly 65% of LGBTIQ students feel the need to hide or disguise their identity at school. 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞? Gender-based violence continues to be a pervasive issue in every corner of the world. Whether it’s physical violence, online violence, emotional abuse, or sexual harassment, millions of adolescent girls suffer daily from violence rooted in gender inequality that transcends boundaries and cultures. Occuring everywhere including the classrooms. This begs the question: who should be held accountable for cases of violence within the school system? Is it the government who failed to put prevention and response structure in place? Is it school administrators or school owners ( for private schools) who refuse to affirm their zero tolerance to Violence? Is it the parents who did not inculcate the right values in their wards? or the perpetrators alone? I spoke extensively on this topic in my interview with the Nigerian Independence Radio and hope to share the recording soon. However, I'm curious to hear from you. Who should be held accountable for cases of school-related gender based violence (SRGBV)? #SRGBV #Day2of16daysofActivism Picture Credit: Marie Ella Kouakou

🛡️ Empowering Schools to Combat Child Sexual Abuse in Noida 🛡️ A progressive and much-needed initiative has been rolled out in Noida by the #NoidaDistrictMagistrate's office. The recent directive mandates the establishment of Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Committees in every school across the region. This significant step aims to: ✔️ Ensure a safe and supportive environment for children. ✔️ Provide a formal mechanism to address and investigate complaints of abuse swiftly and sensitively. ✔️ Foster awareness among school staff, students, and parents about preventive measures and reporting protocols. 💡 Why this matters: Child safety is a shared responsibility, and schools play a pivotal role as trusted institutions in a child’s life. By institutionalizing such committees, the administration is creating a framework for accountability and prioritizing the well-being of every child. Kudos to the leadership for recognizing the urgency of this issue and taking proactive measures. Let’s hope this initiative inspires similar frameworks across other regions. 👉 What steps can we as individuals or organizations take to strengthen child protection policies in our communities? Share your thoughts below! #ChildSafety #Leadership #Noida #Education #SocialResponsibility #POCSO AD-roit LinkS Dr. Parul Gurudev (Adv.) Prashant Thakur Arpit Guru Atryee Dutta Indranil Rudra

Do boys from underprivileged backgrounds face heightened academic challenges compared to girls of the same age, with the educational system showing a propensity to prioritise girls? Furthermore, do these boys, particularly those at risk of involvement in gangs and crime, experience a lack of support not only within the education system but also from West Midlands Police , local government, and central authorities?
