We're not even a month into 2025, and already we've seen two biggish batch launches from China. Earlier today, #SpaceSail launched the 4th batch of 18 Thousand Sails satellites ⛵️ 🛰️, bringing their on-orbit total to 72. This batch was built by Chinese Academy of Sciences spinoff #SECM, after they provided the 1st and 3rd batches. The 2nd batch of Thousand Sails (launched in October 2024) was built by SECM spinoff (yes, spinoff of a spinoff) #Genesat, and has since experienced orbit-raising issues 🚀 Interestingly, the batch launched today was labeled by several sources as "Batch 6". I speculate, but likely batches 4 and 5 were built by Genesat and are now undergoing some retroactive testing to make sure they are fit to fly. SpaceSail has been making waves across the world, including a November 2024 MoU with Brazil's TELEBRAS S.A., 🇧🇷 and the shipment of its first overseas gateways to Malaysia earlier this month 🇲🇾 More to come from here #ChinaSpaceGuy https://lnkd.in/gsSaxBsK
