A couple of thoughts on building donor communities: - Find people who want to pursue a goal & accelerate them. - Jumpstart & Provide Structure with town halls, Q&As, small virtual events, masterclass from community member x, etc. - Amplify Social Proof. Recognition, honor rolls, levels, badges, circles… they all work. - Stand for something. It’s not just about what you do. It’s who you are. - Connection keeps donors. Community is a retention machine because it drives human connection. - Start small to go big. Find and partner with the “microinfluencers” in your community. - Stunts work. They’re fun and attract people. Just don’t make everything about them. - The tiny cost of building a community is dwarfed by the huge cost of not trying. - He/she who owns the data, wins. Don’t rely only on platforms like Facebook/crowdfunding sites. Communicate directly (via email/mail) with your community. - You don’t need donors. You need hardcore donors.

Part 2 of my pet peeve… It may seem like it should go without saying but I’m always a bit surprised to hear people still think spam is a winning strategy. I get that it’s not easy. I get that it can take time. But I also get that it’s worth your time to tailor your outreach to donors. I built ImpactPro Tech on this fact!
