IDERHA’s Post

Many of them will be Master students or PhD students, or scientists at the start of a career switch. IDERHA wants to give them something back. That's why we started the Early Career Community, dedicated to helping people in IDERHA to develop themselves beyond their scientific skills. In Vienna, the ECC met up for the first time. We learned about their guilty pleasures, favorite books, hidden talents, and much more. But also about their challenges and needs. All ECC members were paired with a mentor, a more senior scientist, who will help them in the coming years to develop themselves. Stefan Sauermann of Fachhochschule Technikum Wien provided a tour of the university's research facilities and offered the IDERHA ECC members access to a broad range of courses. Great initiative Jorg Janssen - early careers professionals will make the difference - so many EU funded projects could do the same, we surely will take action in IHI-SYNTHIA as well (will reach out to fellow/sister/brother/related projects about this in the near future)!
