Love listening to my colleagues at The Jed Foundation (JED) share our work on such an important topic: Beyond Stigma: Mental Health Help-Seeking Behaviors in Teens. Thank you Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children's Mental Health for your partnership in this work! Looking forward to learning from about Kamla Modi, Ph.D., Michelle G. Mullen, PhD, and John MacPhee about important findings from JED's new research, including top concerns holding teens back from asking for help, where teens turn for support and what they really want when reaching out for help, and how parents and other adults can better enable teens to talk about their mental health.

🌟 Today, we're shining a light on something incredibly important: Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. 🌟 🧠 Mental health matters at every age, and it's crucial that we prioritize the well-being of our youngest generation. As adults, caregivers, and educators, we have the power to make a significant impact on children's mental health outcomes. 👧👦 From managing stress and building resilience to fostering emotional intelligence and supporting healthy relationships, there are countless ways we can empower children to thrive mentally and emotionally. 💡 On this Children's Mental Health Awareness Day, let's commit to: 1️⃣ Educating ourselves and others about the importance of children's mental health. 2️⃣ Creating safe and supportive environments where children feel valued, heard, and understood. 3️⃣ Promoting open conversations about feelings, emotions, and mental well-being. 4️⃣ Advocating for policies and resources that prioritize mental health support for children and families. 🌈 Together, we can break down stigma, raise awareness, and create a brighter, healthier future for all children. Let's show our support and #BreakTheStigma today and every day! #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay #MentalHealthMatters 🌟

🔍 Exploring Interventions for Disordered Eating: A Crucial Research Pillar 🔍 At the heart of addressing disordered eating lies a research pillar that is shaping a comprehensive understanding of its causes. By focusing on preventative, evidence-based community programs and consulting with government and relevant organizations, researchers are actively working to both prevent and treat disordered eating on a broader scale. 🎓 Hear from Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor Tracey Wade, Director of the Blackbird Initiative, as she shares insights into this vital research. #DisorderedEating #Research #CommunityPrograms #MentalHealth #EvidenceBased #Prevention #BlackbirdInitiative

Accessing services for children ages 0-6 is a significant issue. Nurturing the Seed (NTS) tackles this by applying infant and early mental health science to support development from the moment concerns arise. NTS enables service providers to create tailored Developmental Support Plans (DSPs) for Indigenous children, fostering mental health in a culturally relevant way, and leaving them feel confident in the work they're doing. https://lnkd.in/dwiJVMR4

👧🏼 👦🏾 "75% of children facing mental health challenges are unlikely to receive evidence-based support. It’s a ticking time bomb, waiting for things to worsen before we act." Manjul Rathee, co-founder and CEO of BFB Labs, advocates the urgency for proactive mental health care for children, which they are doing through their innovative digital therapeutic game called Lumi Nova, targeting 7-12 year olds with a proactive, skill-building mental health intervention. Early intervention and skill-building can prepare young people to navigate life’s challenges before reaching a crisis point. 🧠 This raises an important question: how can we normalise mental health support for children, making it engaging and positive?
