#TinyML #Medical #devices hold potential for innovation and new approaches. Of course, turning an idea/lab demonstration into something that can be used in a product is one of our long term goals. Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) now has guidelines framed by FDA. The current work focused on detection of ventricular arrhythmia events in IEG recordings through the implementation of machine learning algorithms (we implemented one from scratch) on low-end microprocessors/microcontrollers. Heartiest congratulations to Vipin Gautam (PhD Student, CSE), Dr. Sharad Sinha (Associate Professor, CSE), and Dr. Shitala Prasad (Assistant Professor, CSE) for winning the Best Paper Award at the 10th IEEE iSES 2024! Thanks David Rosowsky for sharing this and your spot on use of the #MoreYouKnow hashtag. Indeed, it is vital that all of us - taxpayers and policymakers - understand more about what the costs federal research investments do and do not cover. COGR and its partners produced this infographic to help inform recent questions about what goes into the costs of research, and specific questions about facilities & administrative (F&A) costs reimbursements. To this end, we also recently updated an FAQ on this topic: https://lnkd.in/eW3vKYvR

A Compassionate Pedagogy. Indeed. Can deep, meaningful learning happen without it? Learning that will hugely enhance student outcomes? But one cannot pour much from a cup that's almost empty, and this is why #CaringOnCampus offers opportunities to recharge, renew and reconnect with educators' own strong, abiding centre within themselves. If you are an educator within an HEI, I urge you to take time to read and to reflect on this recent blog. I'm sure you will agree with everything that is written, however, it may raise some 'buts'. Such as issues concerning time, confidence, or even training needs regarding compassionate communication skills. BUT where there is the will to do something, ways will always emerge, so please DM if this is the case. #compassion #caring #HE #EDI
In this blog, Dr Clare Killingback, Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy and a Fellow for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at the University of Hull, discusses compassionate pedagogy: https://lnkd.in/emr-DedV
