Co-organized by the UNCITRAL secretariat, The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), ICCA International Council for Commercial Arbitration, The International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), and the Arab Union for International Arbitration (AUIA), the Sharm El Sheikh IX Conference took place on 4 and 5 December 2024, featuring enlightening and fruitful discussions on international arbitration. Ms. Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of UNCITRAL, delivered opening remarks at the inaugural session, featuring recent key legislative achievements by UNCITRAL. A dedicated panel on UNCITRAL Transparency Standards comprising UNCITRAL representatives, Yaochen Gong, Fatma Khalifa and Corentin Baslé, took stock of the trends in transparency in ISDS over the past decade, as well as their impact on the ongoing work on ISDS Reform by UNCITRAL Working Group III. #UNCITRAL #arbitration #ISDS #transparency
