The 2023 fire season in Canada was catastrophic with over 230,000 people forced to flee their homes. The smoke from these fires reached as far as Florida. Experts say 2024 could be worse still. In the challenging world of wildland firefighting, the DJI FlyCart 30 drone is stepping up as a promising tool. With its 30kg payload capacity, this advanced drone can deliver essential firefighting equipment, like water pumps and hoses, directly to the front lines, ensuring that firefighters can conserve their energy for critical tasks. Read our article to discover how the DJI FlyCart 30 could help firefighters on the frontlines 2024: https://lnkd.in/g-XbGP7M #wildfires #firefighting #dji #candrone #BC #canada

This #FireYear2024, there have been 25 drone incursions reported. During wildfires, Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are typically put into place. This requires all aircraft not involved in wildfire suppression operations to obtain permission to enter specified airspaces. Drones are considered aircraft under federal law, therefore are subject to all TFRs. Please keep drones AWAY from wildfires. Although it can be tempting to get a bird's eye view of a wildfire, when drone incursion incidents occur, there is the likely chance that all firefighting aircraft must be grounded. This causes wildfires to grow in size, greatly hampering firefighting efforts and threatening lives, homes, property, and natural resources. #KnowBeforeYouFly - https://lnkd.in/enUQgBrU

Our Dual-Use RAZOR will add a new dimension of local aerial support for forest fire management. Firefighting chiefs will be able to deploy swarms of fast, heavy lift #VTOLaircraft with sufficient payload capacity to deliver retardant, supplies, equipment, food and other support to remote, austere, and inaccessible hot spots. While the large tankers and helicopters are scrambling, crews on the ground will be deploying Razor swarms to contain outbreaks as soon as they happen. It has been demonstrated that misting retardant or water is significantly more effective than simply large volumes. We mist by introducing the retardant or water below our turbine engines. Autonomous VTOL Razor aircraft will give firefighters a whole new way of containing, managing, and fighting forest fires. #WildFires #ForestFires #DronesForGood #FutureOfDrones #DroneTechnology #DroneInnovation #WildfireDetection #WildfireManagement #MaymanAerospace #RAZORaircraft

The recent wildland fire in San Bernardino has forced thousands from their homes, while firefighters battle the blaze from both the ground and air. Early detection and containment of wildland fires are crucial to minimizing damage. With aircraft equipped with Ciconia’s Coordination & Collision Avoidance System (C&CAS), multiple helicopters, fixed-wing planes, and drones can safely operate in large numbers during the critical initial attack phase. The C&CAS ensures that no collisions occur, allowing a coordinated and efficient response. Unfortunately, if the initial attack fails, both the damage and costs skyrocket. To be effective, numerous aircraft must be deployed immediately. However, the lack of time to set up local air traffic management systems means only a limited number of aircraft are typically utilized in this crucial phase, due to concerns over midair collisions. Ciconia’s C&CAS changes the game, enabling rapid, large-scale aerial responses that can make all the difference in containing wildland fires early. https://lnkd.in/dP7dviqc

Let’s not get political….But let’s say you are managing a fairly robust and successful EM and Public Safety program, you make due with what you have you aren’t hurting for anything and have been proven that the resources you do have can get the job done, but you do feel like you want a few more drones and a pimped out command vehicle so you can look cool around all your public safety friends, when all of a sudden the powers that be decide to drop 2.3 million dollars into your budget saying “keep us safe!” What are the first things you are buying??

British Columbia has 100 wildfires burning, with 90 active holdover fires from last year, according to BC Wildfire Service. Firefighters face brutal environments, dense smoke, and rugged terrain, all of which contribute to a high risk of heat-related illnesses. The physical toll of manually hauling heavy hoses and pumps to the front lines is immense. The DJI FlyCart 30 drone can alleviate much of this strain by delivering essential firefighting equipment directly to the front lines. The drone can carry significant loads such as 30 meters of 2" hose and vital gear like high-pressure water pumps. It enables firefighters to conserve their energy for critical tasks, potentially shortening the time required to control and extinguish the fires. Recent incidents at the Keremeos Creek Wildfire underscore the critical need for responsible drone use near active firefighting zones. The BC Wildfire Service had to suspend aerial operations due to unauthorized drone activity, highlighting the dangers posed by such actions. The wildfire, though currently "being held," remains a significant threat at over 7,000 hectares. Despite progress, ongoing efforts involve 78 firefighters, three helicopters, and heavy equipment to ensure containment. British Columbia Wildfire Service took to social media to stress the hazards of drone interference in firefighting operations. They faced two separate instances of unauthorized drone use, leading to a complete shutdown of aerial firefighting due to safety risks. Flying drones near wildfires not only disrupts critical firefighting efforts but also endangers the lives of firefighters and residents. It’s crucial for everyone to adhere to safety protocols and regulations during emergencies. “Small commercial drones will be a permanent fixture in modern warfare.” From scouting to munitions to defenses. Drones aren’t going anywhere. A cheap drone or sworm of drones can be deployed to extinguish a much more expensive, complex, and sophisticated weapon defensive system. This is something the US military needs to figure out quick from lessons happening around the world. Priority: how do you combat against drones for cheap.

Drones seem to prefer targeting the top of the turret (cupola) where the armor is reportedly the thinnest. Having uncrewed turrets will reportedly increase the overall survivability of the tank crew by 30%. And since this is a modular design, I would assume that repairs or replacement of the damaged turret would be a fairly quick - a routine affair. The need for added defenses against unmanned aerial threats is clear and is only set to become an absolutely critical aspect of future armored vehicle designs.

If we can see them, they can see us, said the Alaska Defense EVP.…no more. Hello. Why be seen by drones? Need your heat signature reduced? Need a turn key fully integrated Tactical Operations Center that is on the move or stationary? Don’t worry, we will leave you in our TRACS! Thermal, Radar, Aerial, Concealment Systems, leaving the enemy drone jockey to hunt, well, you can see….cows! Sorry enemy drone guy, you will need to take command posts, and a few more targets off of your hunting list. Who you gonna call…drone busters! Alaska Defense. TRACS.
