$14.1 million will go towards two innovative projects helping sustainable aviation fuels take flight. ARENA is providing funding to Ampol and GrainCorp for separate studies to develop renewable fuel alternatives for Australia’s airline industry: - $8m to Ampol for the ‘Brisbane Renewable Fuels Pre-FEED Study’ - $6.1m to GrainCorp for the ‘SAF Oilseed Crushing Facility Pre-Deployment Study’ Domestic aviation accounts for approximately 2% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions. These projects represent an important step in addressing the challenges to decarbonise this high emissions industry.
