Celebrating #InternationalWomensDay! 🌟 Europe plays a crucial role in global agriculture, and #women are at the forefront of driving innovation, sustainability and growth in the sector. Yet, the field of #agronomy remains predominantly male-dominated, a reality that Yara is actively contributing to changing through several initiatives, including its "Women in Agronomy" (WiA) program. 💪 With 343 participants, including 53 from Region Europe, the WiA initiative serves as a beacon of empowerment and inclusivity. Through mentoring, networking and visibility channels, the program connects emerging & experienced female talents, building trust and confidence, and contributing to promoting diversity, equity & inclusion (#DEI) in our workplace and in the agricultural industry. 🤝 This commitment to gender balance is not just rhetoric. Yara's dedication to #genderequality has been recognized globally, with the company securing the 7th position in Equileap's rankings for gender equality! 😍 With a majority of women on the board and an equal split between men and women in management roles, Yara is not only breaking stereotypes but also embodying its belief that its people are its greatest asset. 💪 Learn more about the WiA program ➡ https://lnkd.in/d6AvSBgn

Women play an important role in managing natural resources and advocating for environmental protection in developing countries. Their leadership is crucial for promoting sustainable agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, as well as protecting biodiversity. The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) calls for a gender-responsive approach to biodiversity action. This means ensuring equal rights and access for women, and their participation in decision-making processes. The share of development finance addressing both biodiversity and gender equality objectives has grown—from 46% in 2015 to 68% in 2022. But integration of biodiversity concerns in gender equality-focused finance remains low (12%). Learn more ➡️ https://brnw.ch/21wNnnX #COP16 #PeaceWithNature #COP16Colombia

Despite their critical roles in safeguarding biodiversity, women remain underrepresented in environmental conservation leadership worldwide. This gap not only hinders gender equality but also weakens our collective conservation efforts. As climate change intensifies and the natural world faces growing threats, diverse voices and inclusive leadership are more urgent than ever. Kavya Pandey, a doctoral fellow at CWS, is dedicated to bridging this gap. Her research focuses on the intersection of gender and conservation leadership in Uttarakhand, exposing how internalized patriarchy and traditional gender norms further marginalize women in decision-making roles. Empowering women in conservation can lead to more collaborative, innovative, and sustainable solutions, benefiting both the environment and the communities that rely on it. We are trying to raise Rs. 3,00,000 to fund this crucial research. Together, we can help shape a future where women lead the way in protecting our planet. Every contribution counts. 🌲 🙋♀️ Today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in our sector🌳 Crucially, it is a reminder that we must continue to champion gender equality and support the incredible women who are making a difference in the forest sector 👏 👷♀️ In a traditionally male-dominated field, women are breaking barriers and making their mark, demonstrating leadership, expertise, and dedication in ensuring that sustainable management of forests secures environmental and social benefits for future generations. Women’s perspectives and insights are invaluable in addressing complex challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss. 🤝As we celebrate the achievements of women in the forest sector, let us also recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion in creating a more resilient and equitable world. By empowering women and amplifying their voices, we can foster greater collaboration, creativity, and progress towards achieving our shared goals on nature, climate and sustainable development. In 2023 FSG members reported in their shared Key Performance Indicators: ➡ 26% average share of female employees, growing by 6% since 2017 ➡ 27% were in senior management positions, a 4% increase since 2021 🔜 FSG is committed to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the sector and this year will focus on driving progress in the forest sector towards tackling inequality and building future-proof markets where all can thrive. 📢 More to come on this as we progress in 2024! #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInForestry #GenderEquality #SustainableDevelopment #SustainableForestry 🌲👩🏭 Angela Graham-Brown Edie Marriner Jessica Fonseca da Silva Bernard de Galembert

At the IUFRO conference today, one session on the agenda was a panel debate on the importance of gender equality in the forestry sector. 🌲🌿🌲 The moderator was Johan Larsson from the Swedish Forest Society, with panelists Ingrid Stjernquist from Spillkråkan and Maria Högvall-Nordin from the Swedish Forest Agency. Ensuring both women and men have equal influence in the forestry sector is crucial for development, innovation, systems thinking, and profitability. 🌲🌿🌲 Gender equality work is not a side project; it should be part of the daily operations, both in structure and culture. The forestry sector is on the right path, but there is still much more to do. 🌲🌿🌲 #Spillkråkan #IUFRO2024 #GenderEquality #Sustainability

🌱🌾👩🏼🌾 Today marks International Rural Women’s Day! A celebration of the hard work and dedication of rural women to their families, communities, and livelihoods. This year’s theme, "Rural Women Sustaining Nature for Our Collective Future”, shines a light on their vital contributions to building climate resilience, conserving biodiversity, and promoting gender equality. Through our work with IBMA - International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association, we’ve witnessed how much women contribute to biocontrol and biodiversity efforts, whilst advancing sustainable farming practices. Rural women represent 22% of the global population and 43% of the agricultural labour force, YET they earn about 18% less than men. Their essential contributions to food security and nutrition highlight the urgent need to invest in their empowerment. So today, and everyday, take a moment to recognise and celebrate rural women for their invaluable contributions as agents of health and empowerment within their communities. Their tireless work drives sustainable change and paves the way for a more equitable future. #InternationalRuralWomensDay #Agriculture #SustainableFarming #FoodSecurity #Communities

Onwards and upwards... we have now funded the planting of 7133 trees with Ecologi | B Corp™ We're proud to be the only UK print supplier to plant a tree for every single product we sell. Did you know that as well as sequestering CO2, healthy trees also help to restore healthy ecosystems, sequestering and storing even more carbon in soils and plant biomass, as well as boosting biodiversity. Reforestation projects provide co-benefits for local people which can promote employment, gender equality, new income streams, more diverse food sources to support a healthier diet, and improved community facilities. #treeplanting #ecofriendly #greenprinting #SustainablePrint #SustainablePrinting #printer #print #smallbusiness #smallbiz #smallbizuk
