Could the #DigitalTwin be the new protagonist of the industrial revolution? Yesterday, I posed this intriguing question to the bright master’s students at University Carlos III of Madrid. We explored how at #SKF, we're harnessing #IIoT to blend the tangible with the virtual, thereby weaving a brighter future. In a world filled with industrial challenges, we find ourselves in an era where innovation is our greatest tool. With #SKFDataAnalitics, we're catapulting to the forefront to achieve more with less, embracing #Maintenance 4.0 and adopting an asset #Lifecycle perspective, charting a path to excellence together

🚗✨ Inspiration and Innovation at the 16th Mobility Science Forum! ✨🚗 I had the great opportunity to attend the 16th Mobility Science Forum at the CityPalais Duisburg, organized by the IAM Chair of the University of Duisburg-Essen. It was impressive to see so many ideas and visions for the future of mobility.🌍💡 One topic that was particularly highlighted was the need for Europe to come together more effectively and collaborate on innovation. The difficulties of the European capital market compared to the USA were also clearly addressed.🏦🇪🇺 A highlight for me was the keynote by Prof. Günther Schuh (RWTH Aachen) and CEO of e.Volution GmbH. His modular vehicle concept can achieve a lifespan of up to 50 years through regular upgrades! ♻️🚙 Equally impressive was a separate lecture on the use of AI to accelerate and reduce costs in product development and manufacturing. I would like to express my thanks for being able to participate in this inspiring event, as I am currently writing my bachelor's thesis at the chair of Prof. Dr. Proff, supervised by Christian Festing. In this context, I am developing a benchmarking index for the core requirements for the effective application of AI in companies. 📊🤖 #MobilityScienceForum #Innovation #Mobility #Future #AI

𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗩𝗖𝗘 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗔𝗜𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 We are delighted to announce that our research project BRAIN (Bridge management with AI for sustaiNable engineering), coordinated by VCE, was invited by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH) to take part in an exciting round of dialogue with 19 other AI projects. Our project coordinator Sonja Kracanović Kracanovic represented the BRAIN project at the AI for Green networking event, which took place on 26 June 2024 at the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie). This event provided us with a great platform to share and discuss ideas for sustainable and innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence. The BrAIn project has set itself the ambitious goal of reducing CO2 emissions in the maintenance management of bridges by up to 50%, thus making a significant contribution to global sustainability. #Sustainability #ArtificialIntelligence #BridgeManagement #Innovation #VCE #AIforGreen #ClimateProtection #EnvironmentalProtection #Technology #Research

The First Spark: From Fire to Code The "first spark of knowledge" in tech isn't a single event, but a long, winding path of human ingenuity. It starts not with computers or algorithms, but with the very foundation of our existence: fire. Imagine our ancestors, huddled in the cold, witnessing the power of nature. A lightning strike ignites a tree, and they see the warmth, the light, the potential for cooking and protection. This is the first spark of technological understanding, a realization that the world can be manipulated and harnessed for our benefit. Fast forward millennia, and we see other pivotal moments. The invention of the wheel in Mesopotamia revolutionized transportation and trade. The printing press in 15th century Europe democratized knowledge, allowing for the spread of ideas at an unprecedented pace. These are not just technological advancements, but sparks of understanding - the recognition that through innovation, we can shape our world. Then came the Industrial Revolution, fueled by steam power and machines. This was a leap forward, but still driven by physical processes. The true "first spark" of modern tech, however, lies in the development of electricity, a force unseen and unfelt, yet capable of incredible power. With electricity came the telegraph, allowing near-instant communication across continents. Then came the telephone, bridging voices across vast distances. These innovations weren't just about speed, but about understanding the nature of information and its potential. The final spark, the one that ignited the digital revolution, came with the invention of the computer. While the earliest models were rudimentary, they represented a fundamental shift. Instead of physical processes, they used algorithms, sets of instructions that could be manipulated and reconfigured, paving the way for automation and information processing. Today, we stand on the shoulders of these giants. From the simple act of controlling fire to the complex world of algorithms, every step has been a spark of knowledge, illuminating new possibilities and shaping our world. The journey continues, and the next spark, the next leap forward, is waiting to be ignited by the next generation of innovators. @MTNNigeria @BosunTijani @3MTTNigeria @IHSTowers @NITDANigeria #My3MTT #3MTTAnambra #My3MTTNigeria

Great panel at the SC24 plenary session - we got a glimpse into the amazing things being achieved by the scientific community using AI and HPC – from simulating new airplane designs (to the point where wind tunnels become (almost) obsolete), to simulating the death of stars and the material emitted in the process. Humbling stuff! The consensus on the biggest problem to solve: yep, sustainability! Good job Lumai is tackling this.

Predicting the future can be challenging due to the future’s inherent uncertainty and complexity. The future is influenced by many factors, including human actions, technological advancements, societal changes, and unpredictable events. By imagining, rather than predicting, the future, we can better embrace uncertainty and exploration. 📍Read the full article written by Innovation North's Stephanie Rüegger at: https://lnkd.in/gicxw-gY
