My biggest inspiration for podcasting is Tim Ferris. Periodically, Tim's podcast has what he calls "random shows". I decided to give that a try. My good friend Amar Varma, co-founder and CEO of Mantle was on recently. Amar has been around the block. He began his career as a chip designer. He has been a VC. He is a prolific angel investor and experienced operator. Whenever we get together we end up riffing on a bunch of topics, So, we decided to do that here. In this episode we explore today's election, AI, mega VC funds and more. Hope you enjoy this. Please let me know if you liked this show. It was an experiment. Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Mark MacLeod for more. Are you a startup CEO? Tune into the latest episode of The Startup CEO Show Check out comments to view and listen.

While I did share this recent podcast episode along with the ever-legendary celeb host, RASHI KHANNA yesterday — not too sure how many people saw the whole episode on YouTube. (Wasn't a reel!) So, posting a short excerpt on the ever-relevant question, "Investors ko kya karna chahiye - What should Investors do?" in the context of the great Indian startup ecosystem. And, again, I've written on most of these points many a time but now there's a face and voice to lend a bit of gravitas to the subject! TL;DR: - Mistakes were made due to 1 Bn TAM fallacy. - India is not a homogeneous market and thus a multitude of opportunities. - Now, we are at an inflection point and it's important who an investor backs and 'why'. - Back a founder/founding team irrespective of pedigree and those solving problems. - Have a long-term horizon on investments. - Bet on innovation and not copy/paste. - Back sustainable businesses that can do without external funding in the long run. - We 🇮🇳 are 'right there' with our global peers and should not be missing the bus this time on innovation and scale. Do listen in and please share your thoughts. Link to the full podcast in 1st comment. Cheers! P.S: I don't get any brownie points or anything else out of promoting a podcast as someone once stated (how lame!). Just sharing learnings from experiences, if they can help out people.
