Addressing the Silent Crisis of Workplace Conflict The belief that employees feel comfortable speaking up about workplace conflict doesn’t always align with reality. A recent report from the CIPD highlights that 47% of employees let workplace conflict slide, while only 29% feel comfortable discussing these issues with managers or HR. This silence is a concern as unresolved conflicts can impact job satisfaction, mental health, and even lead to staff turnover. This article from Raconteur looks at how HR and leadership can create an environment where employees feel safe to speak up. Creating a safe space for employees to express their concerns is not just about policy - it's about culture. We need to create workplaces where everyone feels heard and valued. https://lnkd.in/ejFc3s7P #WorkplaceConflict #EmployeeWellbeing #HR #Leadership #CompanyCulture #MentalHealthAtWork #ConflictResolution

McKinney HR Advent Calendar - Door 9 Toxicity and blame cultures are the most difficult challenges to deal with, in the workplace. They have the power to make people question their values and abilities, and even make them wonder if resigning is their only alternative. A blame culture within an organization hurts productivity and quality of work. Singling out, finger pointing, deflecting responsibility creates fear – staff are then scared to speak up, take responsibility or take risks. In turn employees with knowledge of a toxic situation at work, might be worried about the consequences if they escalate and this could prove to be a challenge! Here at McKinney HR, we help teams to identify, resolve and recover from conflict or challenging situations. Sometime this is creating an anonymous safe space to speak to get to the heart of the issues or other times different options are used. We can help you with: • Mediation (2 party or team) • Neutral Assessments (or culture reviews) • Workplace investigations • Facilitated conversations If you would like more information about how we can support you through your challenging situation, please contact us at support@mckinneyhr.co.uk #workplace #safespace #cultures #HRadventcalendar

Workplace conflicts were there in the past, they exist today and will continue to exist in the future because every individual or team, or group is unique. If they are pervasive and continue to be unresolved for an extended period, can result in creating a toxic culture in the organisation. https://lnkd.in/gV4FDY22 Lalit Chaturvedi ELGI EQUIPMENTS LIMITED #workplace #workculture #management #organisations #development #learning #teamwork

New corporate strategy: Ask stressed employees how they feel, hand them a firing notice to 'help them de-stress', and when backlash hits, sugarcoat it with a foot massage. Stress managed. . . . It is disheartening that, despite significant progress in HR practices, threats are still considered an effective means of motivation. It is a well-established fact that individuals produce the bare minimum quality of work when operating under a threat, merely to avoid punishment. In contrast, they perform at their best when positively motivated and working in a supportive corporate culture. In today's highly competitive environment, where large and small players stand on the same pedestal, compromising on quality is a risk no organization can afford. The best quality is achieved when every individual contributes their best at every stage—from initiation to final delivery and feedback collection. #corporateculture #corporatehumour #drcharurawat #corporateculturist

What role do you play in workplace conflict? Do your actions make it better or worse? It’s easy to see challenges in the workplace as someone else’s problem, particularly when it’s an issue you aren’t directly involved in. Yet how you handle that situation can make all the difference. As a manager or HR professional, it sometimes feels easier to take over to get a resolution. Other times you might choose to walk away. However you choose to manage conflict, your approach matters, and it shapes the outcomes you can expect from your team. When was the last time you reflected on your experiences and whether there were ways to manage those situations differently next time? My blog (in the link below) shares some insight into how to foster healthy conflict for a better working environment. Let me know in the comments if you find it useful.
