The Draghi Report, first published in September 2024, states that competition policy must adapt to ensure greater focus on fostering innovation and restoring the EU’s long-term competitiveness. A panel discussion at the Institute of International and European Affairs, organised in conjunction with the Economic Regulators Network, will see Olivier Guersent, Director General at the EU Competition Policy, Brian McHugh, Chairperson of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and Imelda Maher, Sutherland Professor of European Law University College Dublin, explore how concepts in the Draghi report could be incorporated into any future Commission guidelines. The panellists will also assess how the report will influence the new Commission’s approach to competition enforcement and reflect on whether Europe’s competition policy harms its competitiveness or offers a way to boost Europe’s competitiveness. Taking place on Friday, 06 December at 1pm, you can register to attend this event in-person or online: https://lnkd.in/eem7yyVS #iieaevents #EUAffairs
