Navigating the World of Product Management As a product manager, I've learned that simplicity is key. Avoid overcomplicating things, and focus on the fundamentals. Here are some valuable lessons I've picked up along the way: - Avoid making gut-based decisions without data to back them up. - Don't ship features without a clear understanding of your users' needs. - Don't try to own the product roadmap alone – collaboration is essential! - Don't get stuck in meeting mode – stay hands-on and focused on your product. Instead, focus on: - Understanding the problems your users face. - Making data-driven decisions. - Staying up-to-date with even the slightest changes in your product. #productmanagement #productmanager #learningbydoing #brandgrowth #productideas #problemsolving #Productdiscovery

Ever feel like you're spinning plates as a product manager, trying to keep everything balanced? The secret isn't in juggling more—it’s in knowing which plates to spin first. Value-addition backlog items need to be prioritized. Do what is necessary.
As a Product Manager, there’s nothing more exciting than innovating and delivering on customer and stakeholder requests. Almost anything is possible, with unlimited resources, infinite time, and a flexible tech stack! In a perfect world, I’d be saying “yes” 100% of the time. In reality, though, it’s all about prioritization, trade-offs, and, yes, managing the infamous backlog of “urgent” requests. From my experience across different organizations, only about 5-10% of backlog items actually see the light of day. We plan a few sprints ahead for key objectives, and if something lingers too long in the backlog, it’s likely a candidate to move on from. Taking the time upfront to thoughtfully plan solutions can make a big difference in minimizing rework, even though some adjustments are bound to happen along the way. This one gave me a chuckle, “Oh, you want to pivot and go in a new direction with the product? Sure, let me just un-build the last six months of work!” Thank you to the Product School for sharing this😂 #ProductManagement #Innovation #Prioritization #TechLife #PMHumor #BacklogRealities #ThoughtfulPlanning

✨ Day 23: The "Iceberg Model" of Product Management Hey everyone! It's #Day23 of my #30_day_learning_challenge inspired by Shravan Tickoo and today we’re diving deep—literally! 🧊 When you look at an iceberg, only 10% is visible above the surface, while the remaining 90% stays hidden underwater. Product management is exactly like that. 🔍 What people see (above the surface): - Product launches - Sleek user interfaces - Cool new features 💼 What’s hidden (below the surface): - Market research - Prioritization trade-offs - Stakeholder management - Bug fixes and tech debt - Endless "What if?" scenarios - Late-night problem-solving The true effort of product management often goes unnoticed, but that’s where the magic happens. It's in the hidden depths where problems are solved, ideas are refined, and strategies are built. 💡 Reflection: Next time you're working on a product, take a moment to appreciate the invisible work you and your team are doing. After all, it’s the foundation that keeps the iceberg afloat! 👉 How do you manage the hidden side of product management? Let’s exchange insights below! #ProductManagement #InspiredByShravan

🎯 Focused Product Management & Product Ownership: Creating Value That Matters As Product Managers and Product Owners, our core goal is to create value for our users - but competing priorities can easily derail our focus. The key is prioritization: focus on what delivers the most impact for your users, and let that guide every decision. Rather than overextending our resources, concentrate on features and initiatives that align with user needs and long-term growth. Stay laser-focused on delivering value, and the results will follow. #ProductManagement #ProductOwnership #CustomerValue #Focus #Prioritization

it has been a while I posted Product management is a fascinating field that plays a crucial role in driving product success. "As product managers, we're often tasked with making tough decisions about product features, priorities, and roadmaps. But in our pursuit of building innovative solutions, we sometimes forget the most critical aspect: understanding our users' needs. Empathy is the unsung hero of product management. It's the ability to put ourselves in our users' shoes, to feel their pain points, and to design solutions that truly make a difference. By prioritizing empathy, we can: - Build products that truly resonate with our users - Identify blind spots and areas for improvement - Foster a culture of user-centricity within our teams Let's remember that product management is not just about building products, but about building solutions that improve lives. By putting empathy at the forefront of our approach, we can create products that truly make a lasting impact. #productmanagement #empathy #usercentric
