Today, we’re joining the European Disability Forum’s conference “Equality in Europe - progress and challenges” together with the EU officials and civil society. Our Advocacy Director Katrin Hugendubel will talk at the panel to discuss the progress regarding #equality and fundamental rights during this Commission mandate and what remains to be done in the next. Our message is clear: the #EU needs to take action to address gaps in equality and introduce comprehensive legal protection against discrimination so no one is left behind. The next #EC President needs to nominate a Commissioner with a strong mandate on equality and fundamental rights, commit to a #LGBTIQ Equality Strategy beyond 2025 and establish an LGBTIQ envoy in the Commission to strengthen the work. #unionofequality #europeancommission #europeanunion
