Illinois Green Alliance’s Post

As we work to improve sustainability in the built environment, building professionals need to be conscious that much of the emissions from the industry will take the form of embodied carbon—emissions from the manufacturing, transportation, and construction of building materials. It is vital we reduce these emissions and transition to low-carbon construction; however it can be challenging for building professionals to get the information they need to make a difference. To get this conversation moving, Illinois Green’s Miranda Wright and Pepper Construction Group’s Juanita Garcia share a brief overview of embodied carbon and provide some strategies and tools for building professionals to consider. To learn about the software tools EPIC, Tally, EC3 and how to incorporate carbon reduction strategies throughout various stages of the design and construction processes, join us for an interactive virtual workshop tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/g_M87-QF #NetZeroNow #EmbodiedCarbon #Sustainability #GreenBuilding
