Future of Work is Flexibility! I'm mother of two, have held leadership positions at many great organisations and have delivered great work that created impact. (yes, I'm not being humble here 😊 ). I have always maintained, all of that was possible because of the flexibility and guidance that my managers and mentors provided. 1. Be it an opportunity to #WFH in 2005 and awarded the #BestEmployeeoftheYear at HurixDigital. Thanks to Anand Lunia to understand the pains of first-time mother and showing faith in me. 2. Be it #parttimeworking opportunity in 2014 at Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business]. Thanks to my #mentor Rajeshwar Tripathi to show trust in me and my capabilities. For me this was support that helped me continue to work despite being a mother. But today, employees need #flexibility for many more reasons. 1. Continuing their education 2. Recover from #burnout 3. Adoption 4. Care of aging parents 5. Parenting ......and so on. The list is endless. The #GenZ are demanding this flexibility in all our #GenConnect surveys and mentoring conversations. But I think why only #GenZ, all generations need that flexibility. I urge #HRLeaders to build diversity and inclusivity in their #HRPolicies. Xpheno declares a holiday on July 1st to celebrate India's victory! Yes, you heard me right. Initially, many of us thought it was a joke, and the HR and marketing teams were flooded with messages. But this is indeed a reality. Interestingly, this realization came to me during conversations with a future client and a media professional today, allowing me to reflect on my journey and appreciate it deeply. Reflecting on my past experiences, I faced many struggles while working at a certain company, which I once considered home (yes, I was mistaken). I was often terrified to ask for leave. The expectation was to show up at work no matter the circumstances, even if I was seriously ill. The so-called "healthy sarcasm" from higher-ups only added to the stress, making it clear that these demands were unreal. Imagine managing five different roles simultaneously and still being expected to work through severe illness, including COVID-19. The burnout I experienced was so severe that I had to leave the industry altogether. However, joining Xpheno marked a turning point in my career. Here, the focus is truly on the individual. My mental and physical well-being and personal growth are prioritised above all else. At Xpheno, I am part of a supportive family that genuinely cares for each other. It’s a place where the well-being of each individual contributes to the collective strength and success of the team. Today, its a weird mix of emotional and professional growth that helps me cherish what I have and strive to do even better. I am incredibly grateful to Xpheno for fostering such a fantastic culture. It was a pleasure connecting with your team and discussing the importance of sustainable food practices. During our presentation, we delved into the journey of Saving Grains and how we're transforming waste into sustainable & nutritious food products. "Waste is what's left when imagination fails." This quote encapsulates our approach at Saving Grains. We explored the concept of invisible food, such as spent grain from microbreweries, and its potential to be transformed into nutritious products. Did you know that Bangalore's microbreweries produce around 12,000 kilograms of spent grain daily? We discussed the nutritional benefits of spent grain, containing 23% protein and 46% fiber, and how we're upcycling it into flour, chapatis, laddoos, and granola through our micro-upcycling kitchens. Our mission is not just about creating tasty treats but reimagining our relationship with food and the planet. By preventing waste from ending up in landfills, we're reducing our environmental footprint and supporting local communities. Saving Grains is just the start of our journey, and we invite you to join us in imagining better food systems and tapping into invisible food sources.
