In Brazil it is not different. We face a lot of regulations and it is urgent to discuss how to safely unlock the potential om Nuclear Medicine in our Latin America context, with so many infrastructure and logistics challenges in a Continental Country like ours. Congratulation’s European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and Dr Rudi Dierckx for the courage to face this challenge. We support this initiative and would like to learn from you how to develop something similar to our country and continent. This is also a concerning issue to SBMN . #strongertogether #medicinanuclear #nuclearmedicine
Turning the Tide – A Critical Call for Unlocking Nuclear Medicine Potential in Europe In the context of the revision of the EU Pharmaceutical Legislation, it is with great regret that the EANM and Nuclear Medicine Europe (NMEU) note that the recommendations of their joint proposals were omitted from the final position of the European Parliament. Our main concern is that this oversight risks hindering the regulatory framework for #radiopharmaceuticals, potentially impeding Europe's advancement in this crucial field. Now that the focus shifts to the Council of the EU, the EANM and NMEU urge policymakers to reconsider and prioritise developments in radiopharmaceuticals. ➡ Read our full joint statement to learn more about this pressing issue: https://lnkd.in/gY627MHs

We are happy to walk you through the facts! 𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐒 📌 • In 1991, Innogenetics NV (a Belgian-based biopharmaceutical company) and Nuclear Laser Medicine SRL (‘NLM’, an Italian company specialized in in vitro diagnostic products) entered into an exclusive distribution agreement. According to the agreement, NLM was granted exclusive rights to sell all Innogenetics products in Italy for an indefinite period of time. • The distribution agreement was governed by Belgian law but lacked explicit reference to the mandatory legislation (unique to Belgium) on the unilateral termination of indefinite exclusive distribution agreements (articles X.35-X.40 of the Code of Economic Law). • Innogenetics partially terminated the agreement in 1996 and fully in 1999 with a six-months’ notice period. • NLM challenged the termination before the courts of Ghent, seeking compensation based on the Code of Economic Law 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐓 𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⚖️ In 2005, the Court of Appeal of Ghent ruled that when an exclusive distribution agreement is executed entirely outside Belgium, the Belgian mandatory law on termination only applies if explicitly stated in the agreement, not just by general reference to Belgian law. This judgment was confirmed by the Court of Cassation in 2006 and underscores the importance of precise contractual language in international agreements. Better patient access for all is on the way!
A big victory for patients and the nuclear medicine field! After 16 years of advocacy and collaboration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has announced the unbundling of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals at the $630 level. This will open up access to nuclear medicine scans, altering the course of treatment for patients who need it the most, as well as spur innovation and production in the pharmaceutical industry. SNMMI applauds CMS for this significant improvement in access to nuclear medicine. This is a community victory that came from a community effort — your voices in support of this important cause had a great impact. SNMMI will continue to work with CMS to ensure equitable access to diagnostic care for all. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eKEctfT4

Thrilled to share my #RSCPoster for online RSC Poster Conference 2024 on LinkedIn platform entitled as "Ionic-molecular organocatalysis enabling allylic amination reactions". We report here an "ionic-molecular" organocatalysis as a viable substitute for the metal-dependent allylic amination reactions. Mechanistic highlights supported by 31P nuclear magnetic resonance, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and experimental studies highlight the prior covalent ligation of allylic alcohols via ionic catalysis coupled with nucleophilic phosphine catalysis, yielding allylamines via the SN2’ -SN2’ (or SN1-SN2’) pathway. Implementation of this ionic-molecular catalysis in heterocyclic functionalizations (N-allylation) with excellent chemo- (N vs. O), regio- (linear vs. branch), and stereo-selectivity (E vs. Z) and active pharmaceutical ingredient (flunarizine, cinnarizine, and naftifine) synthesis has been successfully demonstrated. #RSCPoster #RSCCat #RSCOrg

Quality Management and GMP for Radiopharmaceuticals Radiopharmaceuticals must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as specific nuclear safety regulations. This is particularly important when transitioning from the use of radiodiagnostic agents, such as contrast liquids used in imaging, to radiopharmaceutical products administered as part of treatment. This shift requires a change in strategy. Progress - Experts in Life Sciences provides comprehensive support for implementing and upgrading your Quality Management System (QMS). We ensure that your staff is fully trained in GMP regulations and understands why these rules are critical for radiopharmaceutical products. Our approach ensures that your facility not only meets all regulatory requirements but also operates at the highest quality standards. https://lnkd.in/eQZsTkyC #QualityAssurance #GMP #LifeSciences #RadioPharmaceuticals
