There’s a masterclass for everything nowadays, even for credit cards! Recently stumbled upon a credit card masterclass by 1% Club through a Facebook ad. For just Rs 99, you can learn about credit card reward points, benefits, access airport lounges, book 5 star hotels for free etc. Maybe your date night expenses will be covered by credit card reward points. No need to visit credit card websites or read lengthy brochures. Thinking of signing up and considering sharing my credit card details with the instructor as a token of gratitude. The ad showed that we all have been using credit cards wrongly. I am seriously hoping after spending Rs 99 on the masterclass there should be an upsell attempt to sell a Rs 30000 course on credit cards which I can get for just Rs 12000 because the offer is a limited time offer only for those attending the masterclass. I am also hoping in that course they will teach me how I can open a bank or NBFC and tie up with a bank , get approval from RBI and offer a co-branded credit card (with obviously my face on it 😁) called say Pradipta SBI Card 😁 In fact according to secret sources the banks are attending 1% club masterclass to refine their product offerings. Few people are even saying 1% Club will solve America's $1.14 Trillion Credit Card Debt Crisis as well. Jokes apart, what’s next ? A masterclass on how to open savings accounts by 1% Club ? #creditcard #creditcards #finance #personalfinance #onepercentclub #sharanhegde

Ever wonder why your coffee costs an extra 15 cents at one café but not another? ☕ Or when you fill up on petrol and spot a 1.5% surcharge for using Visa or Mastercard? ⛽ These extra fees, called card surcharges, may seem small, but they add up over time! 💳 The RBA estimates that consumers lose nearly $1 billion each year to card surcharges. And with tap-and-go payments on the rise, Canstar research suggests that figure could skyrocket to $4 billion! 😱 That's a huge chunk of money that could be saved by simply being aware of these fees. 💸 With the cost of living climbing, every little bit helps! 💪💰 That’s why we’ve created a handy guide to help you avoid these sneaky surcharges and save money 👉 https://lnkd.in/gj2jCQcZ #cardsurcharges | #creditcardsurcharges | #debitcardsurcharges | #subscriptiontrap | #drippricing | #hiddenfees | #complaints | #HandleMyComplaint | #HMC

Credit cards will be used on a large scale...as festive season is all around✨✨ Credit card seems good because of its rewards, cashbacks and convenience...😁😁 But don't miss out to check what could be charges or fees you would have to pay using Credit cards..😒😒 # Annual fees: Many issuers charge annual renewal fee irrespective of its usage # Standard fee: A little same as annual fee but nominal in amount, moreover banks may offer waiver of you pass a threshold usage limit. # Premium fee : Depending on the type of card it is charged. # Cash withdrawal fee 💵💰: Direct cash withdrawal using credit card can be costly as around 2-3% will get charged on withdrawal amount. # EMI conversion fee : Many offers to convert the one time amount payable into installments. This conversation will cost you along with interest on emi. # Foreign transaction fee ✈️✈️: Whenever you buy foreign currency or use for travelling abroad. However this can be reduced or eliminated by using specific credit cards made for the particular purpose. #creditcard #personalfinance #caatyourservice

Is the TSB Platinum Credit Card Offering Less Cashback Now? #CreditCard #TSBPlatinum #Cashback Hey everyone! 👋 Have you noticed that the TSB Platinum Credit Card's cashback offer has changed recently? It used to be $1 for every $70 spent, but now it seems like it's $1 for every $100 spent. 🤔 I stumbled upon a Moneyhub article mentioning the previous cashback rate, so it looks like it needs an update! 💳 I was considering switching to TSB, but with this... "WHERE DID THE CREDIT CARD COME FROM" - ? Once upon a time, in the early 1900s, people shopped on credit by simply promising to pay later at their favorite stores. But in 1950, Frank McNamara had a brilliant idea during a meal. Forgetting his wallet, he imagined a card that could pay the bill at any restaurant, leading to the birth of the **Diners Club** card, the world’s first credit card.In 1958, **Bank of America** launched the **BankAmericard**, allowing people to borrow money and pay back later, not just for meals, but for anything! This card later became **Visa**. Soon after, **Master Charge** (now MasterCard) appeared, offering a new option.By the 1980s, credit cards had spread across the globe, making shopping easier and more convenient than ever. Now, people could travel, dine, and shop using just one little card, changing the way the world paid for things forever.#finance #creditcard #bank

❌ Old way: Having a minimum card fee ✅ New way: Accepting card payments that you genuinely won’t mind. We get it. With SOME (no names) providers giving you rates of 2%+ per transaction, while also taking 5p on every transaction, we understand your reasoning for having a minimum fee. But, is it really worth it to lose a customer, several times a day, due to having it? 💳 Even with the expensive rates, you’d be better off accepting the payment rather than losing out on a customer (from a short and long term perspective). So how can accept card payments while keeping as much money as possible? 🤔 *shamelessly plugs ourselves in* 0.3% rates… for UK Debit and Credit cards… and only 1p per transaction… Best of both worlds 🌍 🌍

Small Win Tip #2: Cut up that credit card! After the last post, I realised many people still pay using their credit card and I recognise most people will pay it off when their bill comes. So it is more a convenience thing + get some loyalty points / cashback etc. That's all fine if you have your finances under control and have a surplus every month. BUT, if you are not, or you have a surplus but it fluctuates wildly from month to month, why not consider taking this SMALL STEP to stop using the credit card for a while, and just pay immediately using a debit card, EFTPOS or NETS? What that does for you is it gives you real time feedback on whether you are living within your means and whether you are on track with your expenditure. Every little small step counts. Every small win counts. Because it will snowball... blessings #The5000 #Money #Invest #BiblicalFinance
